Natsumi is an exceedingly dedicated individual. Full of kindness and understanding, her first impression on most is that she's soft. On the other hand, when it comes to her work, she is very perfectionistic, outspoken and sometimes harsh. Her tolerance of nonsense in the workplace is notoriously short. She loves to excercise her mind and body, enjoying a good challenge when it arises. She has a tendency to overreact when excited, which can sometimes scare people away.

Created on Taiie in early YE 29 as a NH-29. After completing basic training and a slightly advanced, and abbreviated course load at Kyoto War College's extension on Taiie, Natsumi was set to enter the Star Army of Yamatai's Fifth Expeditionary Fleet.

Natsumi's plans were changed quickly however, when Taiie was destroyed. She ended up with hundreds of civilians packed into the decks of Pisces Station. She found herself locked between duty to the Star Army of Yamatai and her friends and family amongst the Taiie refugees, and got into several arguments with station officials about the treatment of the refugees.

She moved to Jiyuu and were she joined supporters of the Tange and the Independence Movement. She happily complied with orders she then downgraded to the Yamataian body type, considering it a symbol of her devotion to the newly made nation. Being a supporter of the Independence Movement she attended a public lecture given by Motoyoshi Kiyoko on the foundations of peacekeeping. The two quickly became friends and Kiyoko promised Natsumi a place aboard the The Akuro III once she enlisted..

Natsumi is familiar with the provisions of the Peacekeeper Charter of YE 30 and is familiar with the basic skills of negotiating, first contact, and psychology. She is a professional speaker, and is very good at swaying people to see her point of view. At the same time she is also highly respectful, especially in situations dealing with the first contact with other species.

Natsumi received intensive hand-to-hand combat training (primarily focused on disabling opponents) and has followed up that knowledge with a rigorous training program. Weapons he is trained in include pistols of all types, knives, grenades (and other forms of explosive weaponry) and rifles of all kinds. Natsumi is in excellent physical shape and has considerable endurance. Natsumi has also completed training in the piloting of the Tenshi no Yoru 'Tenshi' Light Mechanized Power Armor.

Natsumi knows how to diagnose and treat minor conditions, apply first aid and emergency care (CPR, etc), and perform field surgery in emergency situations. Natsumi also studied natural medicine at the Peacekeeper Academy and is familiar with most plant and other natural substances that can be used medically in the field.

Natsumi is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. She is also fluent in Yamataian and Nepleslian. She can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc.

Natsumi is capable of operating any computer system in use by the United Outer Colonies Peacekeeping Forces such as the MIKO Electronics Suite. She is proficient in entering and/or searching for information. She is familiar with all ships systems and was specifically trained for the operation of those present on the The Akuro III.

Natsumi loves to do oil paintings and other kinds of painting, she finds it relaxing and soothing to sit for hours before a subject and paint. She has an eye for detail, a great appreciation for artistic talent and enjoys a variety of artistic styles and techniques. Some of her artwork is on display at the Peacekeeper Academy in Tokyo.
