Build and Skin Color: Like all Patricians, Uriel's body is naturally toned, but 14 years of devotion to Pankration have sculpted his body into a fine specimen. His skin is just a few shades paler of the average Caucasian (Type II).

Facial Features and Eye Color: Uriel was born with a naturally symmetrical face, a straight nose, lips of an average size and unremarkable color, and a well-defined jawline that could have been cut from stone. His eyes are a crystal green, and he could possibly be considered a handsome man if he weren't looking so solemn all the time.

Hair Color and Style: Uriel kept his blond hair no more than 2cm long while in the Celestial Navy, and the style grew on him. His sideburns halt 1cm above his earlobes.

Distinguishing Features: Aside from the enormous pair of wings, he has done some tattooing. At the base of his neck a “diagram” of his spine and the sinews attaching to his wings is illustrated. It continues downward, gradually thinning until it comes to a sharp point an inch above his waistline. It is done in a green ink that matches his eyes and almost seems to glow in any amount of light.

Personality: Uriel is not the brightest of the Archangels, but he's no idiot; he can hold his ground in a debate, but is much more apt to engage an enemy physically. While always having been a demure soul, Uriel quickly turned into a sharp-tongued and short-spoken man with the death of his father and the fourth failed war against Yamatai. His father had been not only a great example, but a leader and an icon; his people had always been a shining beacon of hope. But with these two events, Uriel has become almost obsessed with the search for evidence/proof for and/or against God, and is in constant pondering of whether or not the Elysians truly are the chosen shepherds of God's “lower” races. He has not become an unbeliever, but he has many questions and doubts these days. To any of his fellow Patricians, however, he knows this would come across as something akin to heresy. He has not brought this up with anyone other than his brother and mother. He keeps more to his own thoughts and more often than not will only speak when spoken to. He's become slow to judge other races in light of recent events, and does his best to keep thoughts of superiority silent (which is a constant struggle). While his pride as a Patrician and Elysian remains, he is constantly questioning all with which he had been indoctrinated throughout his life, leading to many instances of cognitive dissonance.

Likes: Pankration, Space (and space travel), Philosophy, Reading, Music, and just about any physical competition. Dislikes: Yamataians (especially Nekos), boastfulness/arrogance (even when he's the culprit), freeloaders, general “scum,” and going home. Goals: He's on a seemingly perpetual mission to find and validate proof of his God, or build evidence against the entire Elysian religion.

Ilmael Hisshana - Uriel's father, deceased. He was lost during the war with Yamatai. Gabriel Hisshana - Uriel's mother. She owns her own local clothing manufacturer, supplying for most of the Patricians in Uriel's hometown. Ephram Hisshana - Uriel's younger brother by two years and eight months. Ephram disowned Uriel when the latter chose to retire from the Celestial Navy. Have not spoken since.

Like all other Patricians, Uriel was under the tutelage of various teachers until the age of 12, when he entered the Academy with a focus in Galactic History. At the same time, he devoted much of his energy to Pankration and kept with the sport for all his years. Entranced by the idea of space travel since early childhood and raised by a Naval officer, the choice to join the Celestial Navy at age 18 was a no-brainer. Finding enjoyment in the technical side of things, he focused on piloting and navigation. He was with the Navy (beyond his training) for five months when his father died, and when the war ended, he resigned from the military, having never seen combat. Ephram disowned Uriel and swore never to speak to him again for his heretical thoughts and rash behavior.

Once outside the Navy, Uriel sought to become a tutor to young Archangels with his knowledge of Galactic History, and also to pursue a deeper study of religion. Few families would take him on as a teacher due to his lesser education than most tutors and the rumors that he was no longer a believer; no one wanted to risk putting their children in a room with a madman. When Ephram threatened to have Uriel sent to an asylum, the latter decided it was time to leave home and embark on his journey of discovery.

This occurrence was quite by chance. Nepleslian space was the easiest place to go because Yamatai was still not an option in his mind. It was on Nepleslia Prime in a bar the Patrician chose on a whim where he encountered Luca Pavone & Co. overcoming adversity firsthand. He was done with his searching here, and knew the stories well enough. Uriel determined that joining them would be advantageous: he would receive travel in return for anything the Captain asked of him. What's more, a diverse crew would mean for a fair sampling of the galaxy. So he offered his aid, and Luca openly accepted him.

Later that evening, Luca was yet again assailed by a Nekovalkyrja, and with some assistance from others, once again displayed his prowess in combat. As if to make it explicitly clear just how much trouble he got into, the next day the troupe was approached by a rather chatty villain whom happened to have brought along quite the number of clones. They were easily dispatched with everyone working together. One of these clones was captured, doused with an alcoholic beverage, and hung up on a flag pole with significantly fewer items of clothing. Just as they were about to go about their own business, one of Luca's old 'buddies' came forward with a job proposition: deliver a small, unseemly parcel to someone in the United Outer Colonies. To the ship!

The first mission with Pavone's crew aboard the Big Bird was a simple delivery to a dropoff point in the United Outer Colonies. It is thus far incomplete, and the crew is currently in transition.

Uriel is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. He's is fluent in Seraphim, Nepleslian, and Yamataian. He can speak and write them correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. Like all other Patricians, he is capable of communicating telepathically up to other beings up to 5km away. While he is good with words, his skill could never match that of the Patrician poets or politicians.

Uriel received intensive infantry training and is highly proficient in the use of the Xiphos Infantry Blades, The Phaelaes War Spear, Aspis Infantry Shield, Atromos Particle Beam Rifle, Dresde Under-Slung Grenade Launcher, Sersis Variable Pistol, Sperion Mini-Grenade and Pelphrys Particle Pulse Autocannon. He has also been trained in Pankration for 14 years and has basic training in the use of the Anthedon Power Armour. He has a preference for the Xiphos Blades and large-caliber personal weapons such as the retired Tiger's Tears, Peashooter, and Sizi Model 30.

Uriel is not only a skilled hand-to-hand fighter, but also one of the few Elysians that have trained their wings for flight. He is capable of intense flight for a half hour, and can “cruise” for about two hours before he needs to rest; going longer would result in extreme exhaustion, possibly even fainting.

Uriel is a well-rounded Elysian pilot and navigator, with the training to pilot the military Avenger-Class Carriers and Thunderbolt Frigates, and basic operation of most transport and civilian ships. His preference during the military was with the Thunderbolt Frigates. He has basic skills in stellar cartography, and is well schooled in astrometry.

Uriel's focus in the Academy was Galactic History with an emphasis on contemporary issues, which covers the most recent decade of wars, peace, and discovery. After leaving the Navy, he further pursued these studies with a particular interest in Yamatai and Nepleslia, and is well-versed in the escapades of both.
