Nalia Simmons is a player character played by Madwolf023.
|Height:||5'3“ (160 cm)|
|Weight:||125lbs (56.699 kg)|
|Organization:||Star Military of the Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia|
Build and Skin Color: Nalia is definitely near the petite size in terms of body size, however for what she lacks in size she makes up in with muscle. Her skin is bordering on pale, despite any attempts to darken her skin, the only result is freckles.
Eyes and Facial Features: Like the rest of her body, Nalia's face is sprinkled with freckles, which only highlights her pale skin. Her icy blue eyes only add to the light colors of her face.
Ears: Her ears are typical of all Nepleslians, round and wide.
Hair Color and Style: Nalia's shockingly bright copper hair is cropped short in a pixie cut, keeping it manageable so it does not impede her vision or prove to be a distraction in the midst of battle.
Personality: In contrary to the view of most of the universe towards Nepleslians, Nalia Simmons does not have 'anger management issues', nor does she have a tendency towards violence towards others, despite her profession and past. That being said, she is extremely loyal to the chain of command, only defying the most morally abhorrent orders. She attempts to blend into the crowd by not standing out as being a troublemaker. Lastly it should be noted that while she has a definition of 'right' and 'wrong', 'good' and 'bad', she mostly aligns herself with forces of justice. All of this can be attributed to her traumatic past with the lawless sectors of Nepleslia.
Nalia Simmons was raised on the streets as a thief, having never known her family. Against all odds she survived the slums of Nepleslia. Most of what she learned was through observation and practice. By the age of ten she had learned how to pick locks and pockets easily. She never knew her parents, instead being raised by a local gang who tried to press her into service by the time she was twelve. She ran away at that point, spending the next two years in hiding. During that time a minor gang war wiped out those who were pursuing her.
Since the gang was fully male it wasn't until she ran away that she partnered up with a female for the first time. For four years her partner, Olivia Stone, became her best friend, confidant, and lover. However Olivia was killed trying to steal some cake for Nalia's sixteenth birthday. Once Nalia found out, she marched into the nearest military recruiting station and signed up.
Nalia was stationed at Funky City for her training. There she was trained in the four basic skills needed for any grunt of the battle-field. Her knowledge of parkour (movement between two points in the shortest space possible, ignoring any obstacles) and above average speed made her a difficult match for any opponent in terms of hand to hand combat with knifes or hands. Her years on the streets also gave her first hand knowledge on guns. Sixteen years of living on the streets had made her tough as nails, allowing her not only extra boosts of endurance, but better at lasting longer times with less material.
However she was far from the perfect trainee. She had no grasp of tactics beyond single combat, and had no knowledge of how to speak the language. Many of her training days found her in the library, trying to figure out how to spell the simplest of words. Ironically she did take to reading some other languages such as Yamataian quicker than her native language. Still, she was far from fluent in her days of studying.
As her classmates soon graduated and joined different battle stations, she was left behind due to her lack of writing skills. It was then that she took matters into her own hands for the first time. Approaching different scholars, she began to take private lessons to master her own inhibitions. After six months she had grasped the basics of strategy, and after a year she mastered basic strategy requirements, including map reading, math, and ability to follow and give orders. Still, despite the efforts of the best language teachers she still could not write very well. Her communication skills were mostly limited to verbal communications, as reading was merely developing for her.
A year and a half of studying (all the while keeping up her training in the military fields) she finally had a passable command of language for field work. Even to this day she still spends thirty minutes a night trying to decode the language that everyone around her have known most of their lives.
However her extra long stay at Boot Camp did come with some extra bonuses. She was allowed to study the drill masters. Though she did not speak her mind, she made a mental notes on what she thought was effective and not effective in their leadership skills. At this point she was optimistic about one day passing down her knowledge of leadership skills to her own unit (should she survive long enough).
Another remarkable thing occurred during her time at Funky City. Her whole personality changed. At the beginning she was an angry young woman trying to prove that she belonged in the world. Alone and bitter, she struck out against most forms of order and structure. However, that being said, as time went on she found herself keeping her temper, not lashing out at the world. Some Cadets had even began to look up to her, due to her long stay. She realized she wanted to become a role model to young cadets. At long last, it seemed as though she had something to look forward towards.
Nalia is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, ships, ground vehicles, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Nalia is (mostly) fluent in Nepleslian. She can speak it correctly, yet does sometimes have trouble filling out paperwork due to her lack of schooling in terms of writing. Nalia is also skilled in field communications and is proficient in all rudimentary forms of communication (hand signals, flashing lights, etc). 32/100
Nalia was born and raised on the streets. She has masterful command to close range combat. Her knowledge of guns, while starting out higher than the average recruit, has averaged out as her focus has shifted to other pursuits. 92/100 (Close Range) 50/100 (Guns)
Her ability to survive long periods without food or water has her marked highly in this skill. However she did not score highly in terms of the knowledge based portions, such as what is safe to eat, and what is not. Still, she can survive in hostile territory long enough. Also the ability to hide in plain sight and being light-footed and resourceful makes her above average in this aspect. (62/100)
While Nalia began training slow in terms of strategy, she picked up the basics of strategy and strategic thinking during her time at boot camp. Combined with the mastery of some areas important to the NSMC she has shown to have good potential, while lacking in practical skill. (42/100)
Nalia has the rudimentary basics of leadership down. She has the ability to make snap decisions and command troops in basic drills. She also has learned had to be flexible and improvise in the field of battle. Lastly she has learnt how to observe and notice minuscule details. However at this point she is more potential than anything else.
Nalia spent her years on the streets picking up every single trick of the trade them comes with being a rogue. There is nary a lock she cannot pick given time, and her sleight of hand ability has been useful over her life time. The one area she really struggles in is seduction, due to her lack of experience in terms of romantic engagements.
Living on the streets has many downsides. For one to survive they must learn how to be faster, stronger, more athletic than the person trying to kill them. Nalia, being a product of the streets, has developed her physical abilities faster in order to satisfy her need to survive.
