Build and Skin Color: He has a defined, athletic build with fair skin complexion. His shoulders are slightly broader than the waist, typical for the male NH-31 model.

Eyes and Facial Features: His eyes are icy blue and are more round in shape, though there is a hint of almond in the outer corners. His head is somewhat long-headed and narrow-faced with a straight nose and well-developed chin.

Ears: He has rounded, human-style ears with attached earlobes.

Hair Color and Style: His hair is cut fairly short. It was naturally sandy brown before he transferred bodies and turned it jet black.

Personality: He is a calm, collected person with a kind heart. He can buckle down and act serious if necessary, but that is generally just a front if he feels threatened by something.

He usually has a big brother mentality, though, especially when it comes to his younger cousin. He's always looking out for people and is extremely loyal. Some may call him a bit naive and too trusting, but the way he sees it, once he gets to know them, the people within the SAoY are as much as family as those that he is related to by blood.

Aevar was born a Human in YE 14 to Katayanagi Loki and Katayanagi Kari. Both of his parents were doctors, and they were devoted to their work. However, this meant that young Aevar was left alone for long periods of time. Fortunately for him, he lived next door to his cousin Merna, who was born blind and needed to be looked after in her early years. This forced him to grow a little faster than normal, but he took great care of her until she was able to fend for herself. He helped prevent her parents from treating her more like a science experiment rather than a daughter. During this time, they developed an unbreakable bond that has lasted to this day. He became sort of a big brother to her and protected her throughout their childhood.

Once he had turned 16, Aevar transferred over to a new NH-22C model body. He was going through a rebellious streak at the time, so he decided to change his normally sandy brown hair to jet black in order to provoke a reaction from his parents. They barely noticed. A few years later, his parents also decided to put him through medical school, expecting him to follow in their footsteps. Follow he did… for several years, in fact. Eventually, his heart told him that this was not his path. He enjoyed helping people, but the work itself did little to sate his interest.

He eventually quit medical school and decided to enlist in the Star Army of Yamatai. Needless to say, his parents were not pleased by this decision. His parting words with his father were most unpleasant. They felt betrayed, and in turn, so did Aevar. He had hoped they would accept his decision, but it was no good. The only person he honestly said his heartfelt goodbyes to was Merna, who was already on her way out to see the universe for herself… so to speak.

He is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. He is fluent in both Trade (language) and Yamataigo (邪馬台語), but Yamataigo has been a recent addition to his vocabulary due to training for joining the Star Army. He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc.

He has received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. He is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons he is trained in include energy rifles, energy pistols, knives, grenades, and power armor. During basic training, it was identified that he was a natural marksman with a rifle and has shown good overall potential, according to his instructors' notes.

He is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. He is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.

He has received intermediate mathematics training, including up to algebra, trigonometry, and statistics.

He regularly exercises through running, swimming, and other forms of cardio. Even though his body doesn't require it, he still prefers to keep up a well-balanced exercise regiment.

He went to college studying the medical field and understands how to connect and switch IVs, take blood samples, perform resuscitation procedures, and basic medicine. Basic training also provided knowledge on applying a pressure dressing and tourniquet as well as use of a standard Type-31 medkit.

While growing up, is parents worked a lot. So, instead of sitting home alone for hours each day, he would go next door to his cousin's house and help take care of her. Not only did this forge an unbreakable bond between them, he learned some useful domestic skills like cleaning, cooking, and washing laundry. He also makes the best damn waffles this side of Yamatai, according to reliable sources.
