Poppy has skin that could be described as “watusi,” a very light warm orange, or “Mandy's pink,” which is heavily freckled. She has green eyes and pink hair usually kept in a ponytail. She has a tattoo of a woman with big “Gibson girl” hair on her left arm and a tribal-style tattoo of a cat on her right upper thigh. She has one additional tattoo that is too obscene to describe here.

Poppy has an adventurous personality and is fiercely loyal to Yamatai and joined the Star Army to repay them for protecting her in the past.

Poppy never misses a chance to put a thermometer or anything else up someone's rectum. She's also rather promiscuous and into the BDSM scene. She likes to drink beer with friends and is a member of an adult club.

Poppy was born on YE 18.8.23 on Yamatai (Planet). She grew up in Tania. She says, “I grew up in an old-fashioned brick house with a small garden in the back. My parents loved gardening and had turned it into a miniature oasis amidst the urban sprawl. I remember running around with my siblings, trying to catch the koi in the pond or listening to the songbirds my mom loved to keep. You wouldn’t believe it, but I was quite the troublemaker. Climbing trees, scraping my knees, and always coming home with some wild animal I'd found, insisting it was now our new family pet. I was curious about everything, always asking questions. My dad said I’d be a scientist because of my insatiable need to understand the world. By the time I was in my teens, my interests had shifted towards the medical field. I was captivated by the human body, the intricate balance between life and death, health and disease. Many evenings, I would sit with my dad in his study, poring over medical journals, discussing the latest findings. He was a renowned surgeon, and he loved sharing his experiences with me. Sometimes I'd even watch the O.R. through a window.”

When Poppy turned 21 in YE 39 she joined the Star Army. She completed training just in time for YE 40.

In YE 41.1, she was promoted to Nitô Heisho.

In YE 42.3, she was promoted to Ittô Hei.

During the summer of YE 42, Poppy vacationed with Gabriela Lively in Yumiuki.

In YE 42.9, she visited Irchaet's bar near the train station in Ternifac¹⁾ and she had to be carried out after she drank a strange beverage that gave her X-ray vision.

In YE 43.1, Poppy fought in the Battle Of Glimmergold conducting emergency repairs aboard a Kyoto-class Carrier nicknamed the YSS Presurgence²⁾. On YE 43.1.20, Pidole visited the Empress' Palace where she got to meet the Empress of Yamatai, Empress Himiko I ³⁾ and Hanako. She was also promoted to Nitô Hei that month⁴⁾.

In YE 43.1, Gabriela Lively recommended Poppy Pink to Ikigai Majime when asked who should serve as the medic for the YSS Resurgence⁵⁾. Majime accepted this recommendation and Poppy got her assignment to the Resurgence.

In YE 43.2, Poppy visited Ketsurui no Iori as part of a survey mission. She made sure the crew all got backups first⁶⁾. While exploring the closed site of PNUgen Corporation, there was a brief confrontation with soldiers of the restored Uesureyan Star Empire resulting in shrapnel injuries to Pidole Henitot, and Poppy surgically removed the metal fragments.

In YE 43.3, Poppy participated on a mission to rescue MIA personnel from behind enemy lines on Hanako's World⁷⁾.

In YE 43.5, during an away mission to Hanako's World, Cassie was seriously wounded by an explosion during an attack by Rixxikor scavengers while attempting to rescue MIA soldiers. Poppy was able to provide treatment and save her, earning her a Combat Lifesaver Award.

In YE 43.5, Poppy visited White Harbor Station and was part of a rescue mission to save a Senti occupant of a disabled starship near the Anisa System⁸⁾. She was also she was promoted to Jôtô Hei in YE 43.5.

In YE 43.7, Poppy participated in a mission to provide supplies to anti-Kuvexian pirates in the Halna, Valaad (An Rhy), and Darso. There was an incident with Thaddeaus Maximus over Mia Barber⁹⁾.

In 44.1, Poppy got promoted to Nitô Heisho¹⁰⁾.

In YE 44.2, Poppy visited Pisces Station prior to the start of the International Relations Conference Of YE 44, and was part of a mission to rescue a Nepleslian research vessel SS Spark¹¹⁾.

In YE 44.3, Poppy participated in a Pub Night on Pisces Station. When large alien alien insects attacked, Poppy helped save the life of Senator Iemochi Seinosuke, who would have died without her treating him¹²⁾.

In YE 44.5, Poppy joined the away team in Sood Zadra that sought information from Soon Bardoon.

In YE 44.6 the ship arrived at the Machine Moon of Samurr and Poppy provided medical treatment to injured team members and rode back to the ship with the wounded¹³⁾.

In YE 44.7, she assisted during the Arrival of the Norians by boarding Ark Alpha to evacuate hundreds of orphaned Norian children and babies¹⁴⁾.

In YE 44.8, Poppy received a promotion to the maximum enlisted rank Jôtô Heisho in YE 44.8 for exceptional service on the Resurgence and participated in the Candy Festival Of YE 44 in Kyoto¹⁵⁾. She also requested salvage¹⁶⁾.

In YE 44.9, Poppy joined the Year-End Traditions in Kyoto¹⁷⁾, riding a party bus.

In YE 45.1 Poppy was part of an emergency response to a terrorist attack in Gashmere City on planet planet Gashmere and provided medical treatment to Nanook Wojtek. Poppy also visited Central Fleet Depot, Darso, Kepler's Find, and Shirakawa no Iori (in the Ahmar star system)¹⁸⁾.

On YE 45.2.4, Poppy attended the Love Day events in Kaiko Park where she listened to a short speech by newly-elected Imperial Premier Ketsurui-Shinjuku Hanako¹⁹⁾.

In YE 45.4, Poppy assisted in the Recovery of the YSS Wakaba²⁰⁾. Afterward she helped welcome new crew members and gave medical exams²¹⁾²²⁾.

In YE 45.6, Poppy got to do some hoverboarding in the ocean on the beach in Yumiuki on planet Yamatai²³⁾.

In YE 45.6, Poppy went through a wormhole to unknown space where the YSS Resurgence discovered an abandoned space station²⁴⁾.

Poppy and her roommates from the Resurgence (Kawa Euikoshi, Pidole Henitot, and Bidole) went out to eat in YE 45.7, trying the Kakushi Nekoba for the first time ²⁵⁾. They ate some very spicy hot wings with Rectal Infuriator Hot Sauce on them and spotted Ketsurui Aiko.
