Personality: To those who first meet Taikai, she can appear to be quite reserved. She grew up with a combination of a very quietly calm mother and a desire to live up to her parents' skill level. She spent a lot of time studying, and still does, in an effort to be the best Technical Sentry-Medic-Soldier she could possibly be. Because of this drive, Taikai graduated from Basic a year early.

To those who know her on a more personal level, in relaxed settings, Taikai is more easy-going. She loves to dance and to tell cheesy jokes. Few see this side of her, though, and assume that she is as stoic and rock-like as her family name implies.

Taikai's father is a Medic, currently ranked Joto Hei, in the 3 XF. Her mother was a Technical Sentry, ranked Nito Hei, on the same ship. She retired at the age of 26 when she became pregnant with Taikai. Taiga and her children live together on Yamatai, with Akai joining them when not on duty.

As the oldest, Taikai often looked after her younger siblings, and feels great responsibility towards them and towards the family. She studied hard and knew from the age of three that she wanted to be a Technician like her mother, though she also has an inclination towards the Medical field.

Taikai just graduated from the Basic training of the Star Army at the age of 19, a full year early.

Taikai is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. She is fluent in Nepleslian and Yamataian. She can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc.

Taikai employs the dexterity gained from fighting in pursuing many forms of dance, including belly, erotic, and traditional. She rarely shows the fun-loving, dancing side of herself, except with those she is very comfortable with, but when she does, her graceful carriage is beautiful to watch.

Taikai received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. She is a First Dan in Tae Kwon Do and an Ikkyu in Aikido. She is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons she is trained in include energy pistols, knives, and power armor.

Taikai is familiar with and able to fix most problems with vehicle components and systems. She will be able to keep things operating within normal parameters and can sometimes make adjustments to increase operations beyond standard parameters.

Taikai received basic mathematics training, including up to algebra and trigonometry.

Taikai knows the very basics of field medicine, having learned from her father when he was home. She can diagnose and treat minor conditions and apply first aid and emergency care (CPR, etc). She knows her way around a hospital and hospital equipment.

Taikai is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. She is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.
