OI-M3-W3303 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon

The OI-M3-W3303 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon is an alternative primary firearm for the M3 Gekido that is intended to act as a close-range shotgun-style weapon for frames; similar to the OI-M3-W3302 25mm Automatic Gauss Cannon, it uses two HONEY BURST units to provide the power necessary for propelling its ammunition downrange and significantly boost the performance of the chemical propellant.

About the 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon

The weapon is constructed of Durandium Alloy reinforced with a triangular ADNR lattice - similar to the OI-M3-W3302 25mm Automatic Gauss Cannon - and is designed with several recoil reduction mechanisms and numerous buffers to protect the weapon and the unit firing it from being damaged. It is designed primarily to be manually actuated with a large pump in order to cycle in the next round.

Though similar in operation and appearance to a human-scale shotgun, the 75mm Cannon is a precise heavy anti-armor weapon intended for use against fortifications, frames, mecha, and other heavily-armored units.

Nomenclature Information

The following is general information about the 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon, including its designer, manufacturer, dimensions, and nomenclature.

Appearance

The 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon looks like a souped-up version of a stereotypical shotgun in that it has no stock, a very basic grip, and a rather boxy body. There is a boxy magazine located well in front of the trigger and a rounded pump assembly below the barrel, which is vented to help cool the weapon's coils.

Discharge Information

The following is information regarding what is to be expected when firing the 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon.

⚠️ WARNING: MUZZLE BLAST IS LETHAL TO UNPROTECTED PERSONNEL UP TO 5 METERS FORWARD OF THE WEAPON! ⚠️

  • Muzzle Flash: A slight flash of blue light is occasionally visible when a round is fired.
  • Retort: The weapon's retort in an atmosphere is a loud cracking 'fwump' sound.
  • Effective Range Dependent upon ammunition type.
  • Muzzle Velocity: 5,000 meters/second2)
  • Rate of Fire: Pump-Action; typically 2-3 rounds per second.
  • Recoil: Extremely Heavy

Ammunition

The 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon makes use of 75mm gauss-propelled ammunition.

75mm Gauss Cannon Damage Quickchart
Shell Type Purpose
General Purpose Armor-Piercing High-Explosive Tier 8, Medium Anti-Mecha3)
Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot Tier 8, Medium Anti-Mecha4)
Armor-Piercing Flechette Canister Tier 5, Medium Anti-Armor5)
Directed High-Explosive Plasma Tier 8, Medium Anti-Mecha6)

Weapon Mechanisms

The 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon is a coil gun that uses electromagnetic propulsion to send its ammunition downrange.

  • Firing Mechanism: Racking the pump loads a round into the chamber, which is then drawn into the coils when the trigger is pulled.
  • Loading: An electronically-linked box magazine that is pulled out or pushed in to unload or reload the weapon.
  • Mode Selector: Switching between the “Safety” and “Fire” modes is controlled electronically by the frame using the Gauss Cannon.
  • Firing Modes: Safe and Fire
  • Weapon Sight: The 75mm Gauss Cannon is typically aimed via an integrated camera sight, but also contains iron sights for use if the camera is rendered inoperable.
  • Attachment Hard Points: There is a rail on top of the weapon that third-party sights may be attached to.
  • Power Source: Two HONEY BURST units act as the Gauss Cannon's power source; the fuel supply can power the cannon for approximately 1,000 shots before needing to be refueled.

Pricing

The following is information on the price of the 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon.

  • 75mm Pump-Action Gauss Cannon: 7,950 KS
