History

With companies like stardust_pictures and universal_cinematics forming on Yamatai (Planet), several independent film makers on Asura III began the possibilities of a film company on the planet. Longtime director Mishu, an inhabitant of Asura III, met with his friend producer Horace to discuss the possibility of an own independent film company. Soon after, Rockwood Company was formed, with Mishu as the president and Horace as the co-chairman. Another long time producer, Hishaten Moga was hired as the chief of production. Moga resigned as Chief in ye_28 and was replaced by Abwehran producer Friedrich Lömann. Horace passed away in ye_35, and was replaced by his son William as Co-chairman.

Initial sucess for the company came in the form of the first Agent Henry film, produced by Stardust. The franchise remains as one of Yamatai's greatest series of all time. Apart from that series, Rockwood became known for it's employment of an “all-star cast” in various productions, securing a place at the forefront of Yamatai Movie-making, despite not being based on Yamatai (Planet), like most other companies.

The second Agent Henry film in ye_17 would have the greatest marketing campaign up to that point, and remains one of the biggest merchandise hits of all time. Rockwood would revolutionise the way Film companies advertised their films forever.

Unfortunately for Rockwood, their next two releases would not reach the desired gross income, and the company was forced to cut down to 1,500 workers in ye_25. This changed luckily, in ye_23, when Rockwood released it's first Letters of Love film, by longtime friend director Yinko Mai, the greatest drama franchise of all time, along with the third Agent Henry film. The film became so successful that the company got out of it's problems again. The production design of the film, and the utilization of multiple places, changed the way films were produced. As of ye_32, Rockwood lost it's license to the Agent Henry series after having released 7 films of it, and was left out of the production by stardust_pictures.

In ye_26, Rockwood Animation was created to help in the making of cartoon films for Rockwood, but has since done little more than create several short films, which have been pre-played before all Rockwood films since it's creation.

In ye_34 Rockwood released the first Double Vendetta film, which filled the void left by the sudden loss of the Agent Henry films.

As of ye_38, the company has been rescaling, to allow for smaller, more dramatic films, somewhat leaving from it's “big production” history. It nevertheless remains a big player in Yamatai film-making.
