Yody Film Ltd. is a Film production company, mostly known for its creation of the Galactic Tales and Time Travellers franchises and it's leading role in the development of special effects, sound design and CGI. Most of it's production is based on Yamatai (Planet).

In an effort to remain independent from the “Big Companies” like stardust_pictures and yukosfilm after the collapse of universal_cinematics in YE 19, long time film maker Mekoso Yoki, owner of Yoki Productions, sought out to keep himself from having to sell his company. On the other side was independent film producer Jarathe Dyo, who had long worked with Universal before it's collapse, and sought to stay out of any other film companies. When Yoki and Dyo met, they were already certain that their goal, to build up an independent film company, could be achieved. As soon as negotiations were finished, Yoki and Dyo went to establish Yody Films, from the combination of their first two letters each. Because of Yoki's little former experience with film production, Dyo was chosen to become President, while Yoki became co-Chairman. Good friend and fellow film maker Mikane Coyi was brought on board as Chief of Production. The office of Franchise Manager was developed after the release of the second Time Travellers film in YE 25, and was given to long-time friend and producer Nicolas Hedrow. Coyi resigned in YE 35 and was replaced by director Friedrich Meister.

Yody Films' first success came from the release of the first Time Travellers film in YE 23. Directed by Yoki himself and produced by Dyo, the film would completely revolutionise the use of practical special effects, sound design and soundtrack for future Science fiction films. It would remain the highest grossing sci-fi film for almost a year until Stardust's The Last Voyage of The Challenger took over that title. The second Time Travellers would become the first film which would include a performance of renowned composer Johann Wilhelmus, who would become Yody Films' foremost composer and has conducted on all the company's productions ever since except two.

Starbound Light & Effects was created in YE 23 to oversee the special effects and sound design for the first Time Travellers film. Yoki and Dyo hired the engineer Makoten Riyo to lead the new division. It is known for its influence of new effects techniques, becoming the biggest special effects company in YE 25, until loosing the title to Stardust's Lunarflix in YE 27. Nevertheless it remained a big player on the market of special effects and sound design.

In YE 32, Yody Animation was created to contest against the growing number of animation companies, but it remains a small player on that market as of YE 38.

In recent years, Yody Films has taken to producing other genres outside of their action blockbusters, most notably comedy and thrillers from directors Lethani Eko and Kenneth Jakro. Although these movies are largely overshadowed by the Sci-fi and Action films from Yody Films, they offer a broader view of Yody's talents. A new franchise, surrounding fictive action hero John Bruce, began in YE 39.

Due to the company's structure of mainly former producers/directors, most films are directed and produced from personnel inside the company.
