Ypperlig Café Worker Cooperative was founded in YE 43 by Lars Ando.

After serving as a technician in the Star Army of Yamatai, Lars Ando decided to put the technical skills to use building and maintaining espresso machines. When one of his clients went bankrupt, he bought their equipment in the ensuing firesale and acquired the lease to their property. Recognizing that he had very little to offer in terms of leadership and management skills, Lars Ando created the Ypperlig Café Worker Cooperative to share such responsibilities equally with everyone he hired.

There is no official logo for Ypperlig Café, but when the café is open this sign is placed on the sidewalk outside and it has become the defacto logo.

Ypperlig Café Worker Cooperative is officially headquartered in the café.

Ypperlig Café Worker Cooperative has a single facility: the café.

The structure of the cooperative is perfectly flat. All decisions are made by taking a vote with a quorum of members present. After a 3 month probationary period, new employees become full members with voting rights and an equal share of any profit.

Ypperlig Café roasts beans that are not available for purchase, but the café does sell beverages made from them. See Ypperlig Café for current menu items.

Ypperlig Café has yet to discontinue any of their menu items.
