Motoyoshi Fleet Yards was a company that operated between YE 29 and YE 41. In YE 41 it was fully dissolved into Motoyoshi Hanei Kaisha which became the Yugumo Corporation later that year.

In YE 28, Taisho Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko designed several starships for Ketsurui Fleet Yards. While KFY provided a more than adequate outlet for her designs she desired to have a corporate identity expressive of the views of her family and the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet. One year later, in YE 29, her desire became reality when her closest friend, Koyanagi Mayumi expressed interest in retiring from the Star Army of Yamatai to pursue corporate interests of the Motoyoshi Bafuku.

NovaCorp an already existing company expressed interest in expansion and though negotiations with the Motoyoshi Bafuku took Koyanagi Mayumi on as a Director after she retired from the military. Later in that same year, Motoyoshi Fleet Yards was named as an official subsidiary of NovaCorp.

The history of Motoyoshi Fleet Yards is from YE 28 to YE 41:

• Motoyoshi Fleet Yards was founded by Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko in YE 28. It was a subsidiary backed by NovaCorp.
• Koyanagi Mayumi was placed as the Director, in YE 29 to run the day to day operations of the company since Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko had to devote her attention to the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet of the Star Army of Yamatai. (See this forum post.)
• In YE 29, during the First Mishhuvurthyar War, the early development of Motoyoshi Fleet Yards at Taiie was completely destroyed.
• Motoyoshi Fleet Yards positioned their headquarters later in YE 29 in the Jiyuu System.
• That same year, Motoyoshi Fleetyards became the military contractor for the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet with a working partnership with Ketsurui Fleet Yards to produce ships.
• In YE 30, Motoyoshi Fleetyards completed their first contract for the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet through the development and production of the Ionoche class Light Carrier.
• Also in YE 30, when the United Outer Colonies was formed, the corporation was divided between the Yamatai Star Empire and the United Outer Colonies. They became part of the United Manufacturing Cooperative.
• Koyanagi Mayumi purposely reallocated assets and stole the The Akuro III, the Ascendancy-class Flagship designed in partnership with Ketsurui Fleet Yards, for the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet. When the rest of the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet was returned to the Star Army of Yamatai the The Akuro III was kept by the United Outer Colonies.
• The company became the primary military contractor for the United Outer Colonies Peacekeeping Forces.
• In YE 33 when the United Outer Colonies was reassimilated into the Yamatai Star Empire, the corporation was made a subsidary of Peacekeeper Heavy Industries and then, Motoyoshi Hanei Kaisha which became the Yugumo Corporation. The company now exists only as a remnant which has been taken over.
