Yugumo Corporation is the industrial conglomerate of the Motoyoshi Clan. It was formed in YE 41.

The Yugumo Corporation is a major corporate entity operating in the Yamatai Star Empire. It serves as the successor to previous Motoyoshi Clan-run corporations such as; Motoyoshi Fleet Yards and Motoyoshi Hanei Kaisha. The company serves as an umbrella and unified operations platform for several smaller brands and ventures mostly concentrated in the Motoyoshi Colonial Sector, but also across the entire Yamatai Star Empire.

In addition to the company's handle on its subsidiary and venture brands, it serves as part of the Star Army Military Industrial Complex and has several contracts with the Star Army of Yamatai. They serve as an in-network associate with Ketsurui Zaibatsu and its subsidiaries to build under contract primarily for the First Expeditionary Fleet.

The company serves as the primary manager and operator of the Yamatai Star Empire colonies in the Motoyoshi Colonial Sector.

Yūgumo (夕雲) means “Evening Clouds” in Yamataigo (邪馬台語).

The Yugumo Corporation was founded on 3日 5月 41年.

The company was founded when Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko announced that the Motoyoshi Clan would return to the Yugumo Cluster. She sought to rebrand Motoyoshi Hanei Kaisha and use the corporation as a tool to help reshape the former colonies of the United Outer Colonies into a loyal and productive region of the Yamatai Star Empire. She wanted to become the social and economic power behind snuffing out the insurgency which had been created by her traitorous daughter, Motoyoshi Kiyoko.

Being a Taisho in the Star Army of Yamatai, Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko could not handle the day to day operation and the civilian side of the business ventures of the clan. As a result, she called upon her Shacho, Motoyoshi-Igarashi Yuka, from Motoyoshi Hanei Kaisha to step in as the Fuku-Kaichō (Vice Chairman) of the new conglomerate; The Yugumo Corporation. The new company was quick to announce its first merger which was with Sunflower Corporation, run by Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko's long time romantic interest Kage Yaichiro. Sunflower Corporation played a vital role in the decontamination and rebuilding of Tokyo after the Second Mishhuvurthyar War; a role that Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko would have her new corporation step into across the entire Yugumo Cluster.

The Yugumo Corporation quickly announced its acquisitions of Motoyoshi Fleet Yards and Peacekeeper Heavy Industries (included Kakutama Heavy Industries and Juugoya Cooperative), which were corporations that had been of failing status in the Yugumo Cluster since the fall of the colonies.

In YE 42, the Yugumo Corporation saw many successes.

There was a successful formation of several brands under the corporate umbrella which were managed by members of the Motoyoshi Clan. The company also gained and executed the contract for the re-establishment of the First Expeditionary Fleet and put the processing power of its mining platform, Port Siren to provide raw and processed materials for the Star Army Military Industrial Complex during critical shortages caused by the Kuvexian War. The company launched several starship designs for both the civilian market and the Star Army of Yamatai, and contributed to the establishment of the Tsu Agricultural Zone.

The Yugumo Workers Federation was formed under the direction of the corporation and its workers. They would provide human resource solutions, housing assistance, and relocation support for the company's employees. Their influence spread as they quickly became a political tool in which the Yugumo Workers Federation denied employment to anyone who was not loyal to the Yamatai Star Empire.

The beginning of YE 43, which marked the end of the Kuvexian War, the Yugumo Corporation placed a heavy step forwards as it finished the construction of Aquarius Star Fortress, took the initiative of its colonial management responsibilities by a massive show of dedication towards Rebuilding Tange. In addition to those successes, they formed a successful partnership with another corporation through the Ryu Keiretsu And Yugumo Corporation Agreement of YE 43.

In a breakthrough in computing and artificial intelligence technology and engineering, after reorganizing the former Satori Ascendant Electronics division, Yugumo developed the KAIMON system to replace the aging MIKO Electronics Suite that had been in use since YE 30, using it in all new ships, and began to refit its corporate fleet as well as offer refits to owners.
