Wotanu Abokatinka Poku Otopai (Customs of the Clan Defense Fleet)

The Wotanu Abokatinka Poku (Clan Defense Fleet) of the Poku Saeruo Degonjo like most militaristic organizations has customs they adhere to. However, as the organization is still young, they are still being created.

Oath

This is the Oath that members of he defense force are expected to pledge to.

โ€œ<rank and name>, you have been assigned to this vessel. Do you give your oath that you will obey the orders of those above you as long as they are worthy? Do you give your oath that you will commit your skills, blood and even your very life should it be required? Do you give your oath freely and with no evasion that you will serve in the Wotanu Abokatinka Poku, with distinction that will reflect well upon the Poku, your Ruoka and your Punla?โ€

The wording of the individual's response is up to them. They must however shed some blood as part of the oath. It is perfectly acceptable to use the following as well.

Example response.

โ€œI pledge my oath to obey those above me so long as they be worthy, to commit all that I have. I give my oath freely and shall ever strive to serve with distinction, for the Poku, my Ruoka, and my Punla. I swear these things to my Tin-Ta'a.โ€ Keyul replied, and took out his knife and made a small cut on his left palm and let several drops fall to the deck. โ€œI give a token of my blood as proof of my word.โ€ He said and then sheathed the knife and stood up.

Salute

The WAP uses the traditional form of salute used on Clan Fighting ships. There are two variants of the salute. The use between them is more a degree of respect or necessity. The recipient of the salute may reply with either, but traditionally one should return with the same kind.

Basic

Hand closed brought up to the center of the chest with a slight bow. This salute can be performed with either arm, though the most common is the left arm. But the right arm can be used.

Typically used in the performance of ones duty. Reporting for duty, or acknowledging orders are examples.

Formal

Bringing both arms up with the hands closed to the chest, followed by a head nod or a bow. The degree of difference between the ranks determines which.

Most commonly used during ceremonies. It is also done when the person initiating it wishes to convey their respect for the other.

Addressing

Addressing each other in the WAP is a matter of respect.

Formal

The proper formal way to address a member is to use their rank or title followed by their formal name. eg: It is proper to refer to Qaedal Aaeas, as Tin-Ta'a Qaedal Aaeas, or Kasรขvyjo Qaedal Aaeas. A member of his crew would always use the first. The second form is more commonly used by superiors to Qaedal Aaeas.
