Note: Clan years would actually be in Octal, but are listed here in decimal on the table for convenience.
The Qaktoro evolved on a planet about 12,500 light years west of their current home. Their world was similar to Yamatai as far as size, atmosphere, oceans, etc. It gave rise to two sentient races, and the Qaktoro conquered the Tula. More information on Otâgolisoy (Birth world).
Once they mastered their home world they moved on to conquer several nearby planets. At their apex Poku'ka Qaktoro (Qaktoro Empire) population reached 12 billion. The Poku'vonai formed alliances with several of the races in that region. A more powerful race entered that region of space. When their allies battled the enemy the Poku'vonai were drawn into the conflict. Very soon the Poku'vonai faced the very real possibility of extinction. The enemy had weapons powerful enough to incinerate an entire world and none of the races in the alliances could stand against them.
As the war continued Kotoz Mui the most powerful clan leader of the Poku'vonai convinced his people that their only chance to survive as a people was to abandon their Otâgolisoy (Birth world). Kotoz called for his people to follow him on the Norka (The Exodus). For a little over a year, the Qaktoro turned their industries to the task of constructing a fleet of great ships they called Wunyaka Vonai (Ark) that would take as many of the people, and as much of their technology and culture with them. Each vessel carried 100,000 people.
The Norka (The Exodus) began as the last of the colony worlds was incinerated. Fifteen Wunyaka Vonai (Ark) departed the home world with a fleet of support vessels. Approximately two million Poku'vonai left home world on the exodus. The hardest decision was accepting that they would have to leave many of their people behind. The remaining Poku'vonai mounted a desperate battle for the home world, launching ever fighting ship they could muster even launching damaged and incomplete ships. The Poku'vonai sentiment was if this was to be their last stand they were determined to make sure the enemy paid dearly. Then when their ships could no longer fire weapons, they plunged them into the hulls of the enemy ships screaming their defiance. After forty-eight hour of intense battle the home system was conquered and the Otâgolisoy (Birth world) blasted into rubble.
The Norka (The Exodus) Fleet now all that remained of the Poku'ka Poku'vonai, plied its way through across the void using their Tinvyma Movidoanor (Tunnel Drive).
The fleet traveled searching for a place to create a new home. Periodically they would send out scouts along the way. While scouts would search for a suitable star system, and for the presence of other races in the vicinity. The gatherers would go to nearby star systems looking for resources to resupply the fleet.
If other races were detected the fleet would move on. The clan leader wanted a place where his people would not be caught up in the destiny of others. Along the way three of the Wunyaka Vonai (Ark) were lost to hazards along the way. For fifty years the Clan wandered the galaxy searching for the perfect place to call home.
The Norka (The Exodus) ended when Kotoz lead the fleet to the Degonjo Saeruo (Hidden Sun System). Once they arrived Kotoz convened the surviving council members and worked on a plan on how the Poku'vonai would survive in their new territory. The twelve Wunyaka Vonai (Ark) were docked together for the first time in 50 years the great engines of the ships are completely shut down. As part of the new life, the older clans were renamed and became the Jaeli (Sects). The only exception being the Poku Vit (Plant Clan), out of respect for the sacrifices they made helping the clan to survive the Norka (The Exodus).
For a year the Poku'vonai spend most of their time securing the Wunyaka Vonai (Ark) in what would eventually become the core of the Sotâka Ruomâqi (World Station). While this task was under way they explored the Degonjo Saeruo (Hidden Sun System). They locate two surviving planets in the nebula, which are reserved for future development. Work then begins on the first stage of the Sotâka Ruomâqi (World Station). Using materials and resources brought with them a central module is constructed to serve as a gathering place and facilities for the Tanoi (Council). This effort takes three years to complete.
Kotoz directs the clan to begin construction of a facility the clan will use to produce and maintain their ships. This facility would eventually be known as the Poku Movi Vamâqi (Clan Void Berth). Ships are sent out to search for materials for constructions. Some vessels resort to mining, while others salvage materials from worlds and ships.
The first major project of the Poku'vonai was to build the Poku Movi Vamâqi (Clan Void Berth). It moved most of the industrial aspects of their culture to a safe location away from the Sotâka Ruomâqi (World Station). This expanded their ability to maintain their ships, and create new ones.
With the completion of the Poku Movi Vamâqi (Clan Void Berth), ship construction begins. The first new ships are made since before the Norka (The Exodus). Their mission is to gather resources needed for the construction of the Sotâka Ruomâqi (World Station). Work on this project is expected to take one-hundred years to complete. The goal of the development is to provide the Poku'vonai with space to grow and expand.
At the age of 150 years Kotoz Mui passed away. The clan entered a month long period of mourning. All clan vessels returned to the Degonjo Saeruo (Hidden Sun System) to honor the fallen leader. After the ceremony his remains were placed upon one of the original Blades and was escorted with ships from every house to .5 AU from the Hidden Sun. At that point the ship proceeded on its own plunging towards the star to be incinerated. As the ship approached the star flared and the small ship vanished before it was supposed to be incinerated. This event was the start of the Star Watcher group within the Detis Goa'ai Jael (Faith Walkers Sect).
To honor the fallen leader it is decided by the council that all future clan leaders shall be given the honorific of Mui.
A legend also starts that one day Kotoz Mui will one day return to the people.
The massive structure of the Sotâka Ruomâqi (World Station) is completed. Capable of housing more than 1 billion Poku'vonai. The clan now has room to flourish and grow.
During this year a political movement grew and challenged the council and the clan policy of remaining in the cloud of the Hidden Sun. The members of this movement were finally granted their request and left with a group of ships to create a colony. 10,000 families left for the promise of life on a planet with a sky above. The clan sent messenger ships regularity regularly to check on their brethren.
In this year the scheduled messenger ship arrived at the colony and found that it was been completely destroyed by forces unknown to the Poku'vonai.
The Otâmovi Wiy Jael (Silver Moon Sect) begins construction of a series of huge habitats on the first ruined world of the Degonjo Saeruo (Hidden Sun System). The planet is moved to a position nearer to the Sotâka Ruomâqi (World Station). The planet is called Tabak'ka - Great Container. The first habitats are established for growing plants that the clan brought with them from their homeworld. These great farms help improve the quality of life for the Poku'vonai. After the farms are established additional domes are created for keeping animals in. Domesticated animals are the first to be introduced. Larger habitats are established to house animals brought back from searches. Predatory animals are especially popular so some of the domes are set up as hunting areas. One of the domes is set up for use during the Baqnor (move from youth).
Relations between two Ruoka'kai (Major Houses) (Panruo and Leyto) escalated to the point that they were attacking each other's ships. Alliances with other Ruokai (Houses) on both sides brought the clan to the brink of civil war. The Tanoi (Council) finally interceded and brought the Ta'a (speaker) for each Ruoka (House) before them. The Tanoi ruled that the matter between the two groups would be solved by Syat Tâvygoai (Judge by Weapons) or both would be stripped of their status and ships.
After the Syat Tâvygoai Ruoka Leyto emerged victorious. Leyto-Ta'a in a move to prevent such an occurrence in the future proposes that a new Ruoka (House) be established with younger Punlai (Families) of both. Thus ensuring that neither of them will allow conflict on such a scale to happen again since they would be kinsmen. Ruoka Leypan is formed within oda (eight) odasaenori (weeks). After this event the Syat Tâvygoai becomes the means to resolve major issues with the clan.
The second planet in the system is moved to a more convenient location. It is named Wunyaka and a series of underground storage facilities are created. The facilities are broken into two types. The first are where the clan stores surplus equipment, salvage and material. The second facility is a repository for material and equipment that the clan can not use. It is stored here and periodically the Otâmovi Wiy Jael (Silver Moon Sect) takes items out and experiments with them in the hopes of learning their secrets.
In this year the research by the Otâmovi Wiy Jael (Silver Moon Sect) results in a new form of medicine. Wapointe Gean'te (Radiant Healing) for the Poku'vonai. This new discovery results in a number of devices based on it. This discovery was actually not part of medical research, but rather theological.
The Niumte (Weakening) was a time when an endemic threatened the Poku'vonai. It lasted more than a year.
Jolur the Ta'a of the HS-SE1-1A Ismâo'a (Searcher) - Class Ship Graz'ir while out on a deep exploration to the distant west, woke from a disturbing dream. In his dream he was trapped on a dead ship. After performing the Oma fofipa (Making self clean) he sought out the Detis Goa'ai Jael (Faith Walkers Sect) on his crew. The Goa'a after hearing Jolur's accounting told him that it was a vision from Siamaka.
Jolur continued the mission of the Graz'ir, after their next movidoanor (worm hole) transit, the ship's sensors detected a massive spatial event. A natural wormhole opened before the Graz'ir. Jolur ordered the ship into the wormhole. When the ship emerged from the wormhole they were 250 light years from their previous position. They received a Poku'vonai distress beacon. Maneuvering to the source they held a sight no Poku'vonai had seen in more than 500 years. The signal came from one of the original Wunyaka Vonai called the Âdor-Pedavuome (Stormy sky), and it was floating in space.
As the Graz'ir approached the Âdor-Pedavuome. They could see that the ship was heavily damaged. There were lights on in many of the windows, as they got closer they could see movement in the windows. The Graz'ir entered one of the landing bays, and entered the ship. They were greeted by Poku'vonai from the Norka (The Exodus). For those aboard the lost ship, only five years had passed since the ship was lost. What happened to the ship was while making a transition through a created wormhole a natural one bisected their path, the ship was torn from its tunnel and ejected more than 250 light years from its trajectory. The great ship was badly damaged, and its tunnel drives damaged beyond the capacity to be repaired without a ship yard.
The Poku'vonai launched the most massive salvage operation to date. All ships possible came to the location of the ship. The first priority was to transfer the survivors, then salvage the contents of the ship. The introduction of almost 100,000 Poku'vonai from the time before the Norka (The Exodus) had a profound affect on the culture. The entire episode was deemed the workings of Siamaka. A year long celebration period was held once they completed the salvage effort.
This was also the start of the Traditionalist movement. Families that belong to the movment delineate themselves by adding the suffix 'jo.
This was the start of era the Poku'vonai refer to as the Usonori Sate (Lean Times).
A charismatic Kasâvyjo (Junior Master) Goa'a named Melnoa Aoimi starts a religious movement to bring down Mui Volgua and the current Tanoi. See Usonori Sate (Lean Times).
Mui Beti Voiqua commits Sou Fofi (Cleansing Death) Tanoi steps down after the death of Goa'a Aomi Melnoa. Mui Tarbah Leyto is appointed and a new Tanoi seated. Their first order is to rescind the edicts of Mui Beti Voiqua; thus ending Usonori Sate (Lean Times).
The new Mui Tarbah Leyto struck the hunting restrictions. The Tanoi (Council) restored where possible the ships seized by the larger Ruokai. Where it was not possible, grants were given to allow them to purchase new ships.
A hunting group detects a huge derelict drifting in interstellar space. Initial scans show the ship is inactive and apparently unpowered. Three groups of hunting ships consisting of a total of eighteen ships approached the object. The last message from the group was “Approaching vessel, send harvester ships.” When the harvester ships arrived about an hour later. All of the hunting ships were destroyed. The mysterious derelict was gone with out a trace. There are sensor records but those are restricted to all but the most highest ranked personnel.
The Hunters first encounter a group of Star Army of Yamatai ships. After a fierce battle all wreckage is gathered and taken back to the home system. The strange female warriors are deemed predators and clan vessels are advised to avoid contact when possible. The Otâmovi Wiy Jael (Silver Moon Sect) begins the work of studying the tech gathered, and reverse engineering it. The term used by the Poku'vonai for the SAoY is Loi Daho'a Poku (Female Warrior Clan).
A group of clan ships Harvest a battlefield. One HS-SE1-1A Ismâo'a (Searcher) - Class Ship discovered a functioning escape pod, with a living Female Warrior Clan member. The pod is returned to Poku Movi Vamâqi (Clan Void Berth) and a scientist awakens the occupant and initiates first contact.
The Poku Saeruo Degonjo encounters the NMX. During battle they learn of the Mishhuvurthyar way of reanimating the dead. The first group of ships send a warning and then self destruct rather than risk exposing other clan vessels to the scourge.
Several Ruokai (Houses) bring up the suggestion to establish another world for the Poku'vonai. The memory of homeworld remains strong and the promise to eventually claim a world as their own appeals to many. The current sector wide war with the Defilers fuels the fear. The Tanoi (Council) deliberates on the matter for 3 weeks. At that time the dark star flares and the Tanoi decides to ask the Vonai Jodau'tajo (Peoples Voice) for a referendum. The Poku'vonai vote overwhelmingly in favor of locating another world for colonization. The HS-SE1-1A Ismâo'a (Searcher) - Class Ships are dispatched to find a suitable planet.
With the spreading of the Siama'bu Soujo (Defilers of Dead) the Clan steps up gathering, so that ship production and equipment remain plentiful. Also the Clan puts a new policy in place. Clan ships when encountering Siama'bu Soujo vessels will engage and destroy them. But will not harvest anything from them, and any ship that shows signs of having been boarded.
The HS-SD1-1a Gulvi-ka Mui-Class Ship is constructed for use by the Vonai-Rya'ka (Emissary). The ship is a unique design as chosen by Kohaku Syali and is built using salvage and new materials resulting in a design that has both Clan and SAOY appearances.
This is the year that the Poku Saeruo Degonjo chose to reach out and make contact with one of the nations of the sector.
After negotiating a treaty with the Yamatai Star Empire at the start of the year. This marked the first time since the Norka (The Exodus) that members of the clan, let alone the the Mui (Clan Leader), visited another race. As part of the treaty the clan defined its sovereign Lumujo Saei (Territory). The HS-ST4-1a Kâur Ruomâqi (Way Station) came online, the first structure built to accommodate non-clan members since the Norka (The Exodus).
Because of this alliance the clan entered a brave new era for the Poku Saeruo Degonjo began. This era was called Otâgo'iâmai (New Worlds). It also saw the formation of the Wotanu Abokatinka Poku (Clan Defense Fleet). It also saw the production of the Goa'ismâ (Scout) Stako Yanuto
It was so named because the clan began marked the full scale colonization of two planets in their territory. It represents a major change in the interaction of the clan with other races.
This year was so named because it was a time of learning and contending with changes in the clan. The clan is still in a period of change, and expansions the consequences thereof as yet unknown.
This year started with Tarbah Leyto in critical condition after an attempted assassination.
This year was so named because it was marked by turmoil in the region, changes within the clan have settled and a period of growth is in effect.
