Members of the Poku Saeruo Degonjo typically under go several internships in their last year of the Ruohui Giba'te (Academies). The term for this in the Takavonai (Language) is Kâbo'kai Ojme which means before the occupation.

During the 14th and 15th year of their life a Poku'vonai will participate in 2-4 internships. Each internship lasts 3 luai (months) which allow the individual to explore various occupations. It is traditional for the baqli (child) to first intern in their parents career(s). The last 1-2 internships depend on the individual and are spent in other occupations. Students are free to explore occupations in other Jaeli (Sects) as well.

During the Kâbo'kai Ojme the individual is paired with a Sâvyjo (Junior Apprentice). They are required to spend the work shift assisting them and learning. After the work shift they are required to spend a few hours on academic items.

It is rare but not entirely unheard of for an individual to only Kâbo'kai Ojme in their parents occupation. Usually this only happens in a large Ruoka (House) where the child is expected to following the the parents steps or has been groomed for a particular job.

At the end of each Kâbo'kai Ojme the individual is giving a rating of their performance, and may include comments from those they worked with. These can help pave the way when the individual chooses their career.
