The Kyn Lumu'ai are the clan historians, and educators. History and genealogy have always been important to the Qaktoro. After the loss of the home world the importance of their kyk'na history increased. The Lore Keepers ensure that a complete copy of the history is maintained on each Wunyaka Vonai (Ark), and provide updates to ships returning from hunts.

Members of the Kyn Lumu'ai travel with every group of ships that leave the Degonjo Saeruo (Hidden Sun System) to chronicle the events that transpire, and to serve as advisers to the Ta'a of the ship.

They operate the Academies and conduct the education of all Qaktoro until the completion of the Baqnor (move from youth). After passing the ritual the education of the individual is handled by their chosen Jaeli (Sects) as befitting their chosen occupation.

The Lore Keepers are also responsible for maintaining accurate records regarding the Afirmugaly (Heraldry) and lineages.

They also assist with the creation of new symbols for Ruokai, Punlai, or even vessels.
