Neshaten Damage Control Center

The Neshaten Damage Control Center is an area of a ship or station that closely monitors and responds to any damage incurred during battle or from mechanical failures. The center is broken up into various sections, including the Signal Room, Supply Room, Fabrication and Repair Bays, along with a deployment bay. On larger vessels, and stations, there will usually be more than one D.C.C.; with at least one of the D.C.C.’s being set as the primary.

Found on mostly medium sized and larger, including stations and even starbases. The DCC is the central repair platform for any damage that can be detected or reported, they work closely with engineering and the bridge or central command control.

The damage control centers are usually manned and operated by experienced engineering crews.

Sections

Each section of the center is dedicated to a certain area.

Fabrication and Repair Bays

The Fabrication and Repair Bays are the areas of the DCC where repair parts are constructed using available materials and parts from the storage and cargo-holds. The Fabricators build stuff based on the needs or just to supply a ship or station with repair materials, such as pipes, cables, hull armor, or even reactor plating, just to name a few.

The actual bay itself is two decks tall and almost fifty to sixty meters in width and length. There are control booths that help manage the day to day operations, along with an elevator for transporting constructed items. The floor is made out of a metallic mesh that helps protect it from falling items such as beams or heavy machinary. The walls are slightly padded, but for the most part, are metallic with various types of engraving in them that depict Neshaten industrial history.

The actual type of fabricators the bay has depends on the size, on smaller vessels the bay mainly use's manual machines since as metal presses and drills. However, on medium sized vessels and above and onstations, the bay is almost entirely automated.

Supply Room

The supply room is where all materials and parts needed for repairs are stored, but can also store vehicles and even additional turrets, essentially anything the ship or station needs can be stored here for the event when they are needed.

Smaller supply rooms store repair tools, fire-fighting equipment, and even medical equipment.

The supply room is comprised of metallic walls and grated flooring, there is lighting in the ceiling and on the walls but also in the grated flooring. The location of the door changes depending on a ship or stations configuration, but typically defaults to the rooms eastern side.

Signal Room

The command center of the DCC, the Signal Room is where damage reports and emergencies are filters to from ship or station crews and where priorities can be set, and then orders sent to the DCC's repair teams. The room is only a single deck, but has multiple terminals that are used by the DCC's command crew; the room itself is circular with the terminals being up against the wall. A large holographic tank takes up the majority of the center, and is used to display damaged sections that need repairs.

The center has carpetted flooring and a padded roof with vents that feed air into the room; the walls are covered in recessed databank points that can be opened and pulled out to replace circuits. There is lighting on the ceiling inbetween the padding.

Deployment Bay

Another main component of the DCC is the deployment bay, the deployment functions as a miniature hanger where DCC repair crews can suit up for space walks and perform repairs external to the ship or station they are serving on.

The bay is actually split three fourth of the way through, one fourth has the crew lockers and suit up area along with an airlock that permits them access to space. The other three fourth has a large bay, where repair materials, such as extra turrets or repair pods, are stored.

On ships or stations that have the Modular Gravitic Network, a gravitic 'strip' is placed in the main deployment bay to facilitate the repairing of turrets and hull much easier, so that the crews don't have to actually carry the items themselves.
