Universal Turret Mounts is a system of standardized designed turret installations that allows for Neshaten Vessels and Stations to easily swap out turrets for others based on mission specific needs or perhaps on general locations depending on whether the location is hostile or not.

The system ensures standardization, with all turrets being required to be built the same way so that they can be compatible with all ships. This means that if a ship wants to remove its missile turrets and instead put in laser turrets, it can do that easily. The system also means that power relay points and ammo delivery systems are standard as well.

However, at current this does have some issues. Universal Turrets can only be placed in their corresponding turret mounts, such as light turrets being in a light turret mount and medium in a medium turret mount.

Of course, this doesn't just mean weapon turrets, but the mounts can also be used to fit non-combat oriented equipment such as sensors, and jammers or extra mooring points for fighters.
