These are the people who maintain and repair the basic equipment used by the Scientific Studies Service (SSS). They are found at every facility owned by the SSS. They also work on the Kisaki-class Starbases, Satellite Campuses.

They are trained in troubleshooting, electronic repair, mechanics, computer and communications repair. They are also take care of the Collapsible Rapid Deployment Modules, repairing, servicing as required. They are trained in using standard diagnostic equipment, and basic fabrication systems.

Technicians also maintain, and repair the ground vehicles, shuttles and other aerospace craft.

Technicians are also trained in the care and maintenance of all drones used by the SSS, as well as laboratory equipment. Technicians on space ships and stations also service and repair space suits.

They should not be confused with Scientific Studies Service - Engineer who work on the starships and starbases the SSS owns and operates.
