A trainee is a person in the Scientific Studies Service (SSS) who is still being trained. The term is used because they can still change their mind about what occupation they want within the organization.

A trainee usually is working on a degree with the SSS or is receiving vocational training.

When being selected, the trainee is referred to by the occupation and trainee. eg: Science Trainee, Pilot Trainee, Medical Trainee.

Trainees hold the rank of GS-02 and receive a weekly salary of 75 KS.

The character should have the skill for the occupation, but it should be written to reflect that they are still learning. This differs from the Intern who has no formal training, and is not paid.
