This page provides details on the Yamatai Interstellar News Network (YINN) Apprentice and Intern programs.

The Apprentice program is designed to inspire young people to pursue a career in journalism.

Apprentices who are between twelve and fourteen, must also take and pass standard Yamataian Chūgakkō (Lower Secondary) classes. Failure to maintain satisfactory grades will result in expulsion from the Apprentice program.

Apprentices who are between fifteen and eighteen are encouraged to still attend Kōtōgakkō Upper Secondary. Apprentices who choose to enroll in a Technical College are given preference in admission in the Internship program..

The Internship program is to give people hands on training in the journalism profession.

Most internships require that the individual have some college training, typically at least one or more years towards a degree. Interns must continue their education, and must make satisfactory grades in their classes.

Those individuals who successfully complete their internship, will receive preference over other applicants should they apply for a position with the network.

Applicants for either of these programs may submit their applications to the local YINN Administration for consideration. Acceptances are made on a quarterly basis, the individual is notified of their status, and if approved their report date.

The cameraman is responsible for physically operating the camera and maintaining composition and camera angles throughout a given scene or shot. Important camera operator skills include choreographing and framing shots knowledge of and the ability to select appropriate camera lenses, and other equipment.
