These are Star Army's community guidelines (not to be confused with the Terms and Conditions which deal more with legal stuff). The staff and administration are responsible for interpreting and enforcing these.

We want the community to be enjoyable to its members and to be a fun place where members feel welcome.

1. We expect and require respectful behavior.
   1. Profanity is allowed in roleplay posts. It doesn't belong in discussion threads.
   2. Personal attacks or insulting others (“flaming”) is not permitted.
   3. Deliberating causing drama (“trolling”) is not permitted.
   4. Racist, bigoted, or other hate speech is a violation of the Terms and Conditions.
   5. Harassment will not be tolerated.
   6. Respect user privacy and don't post personal information. (See also: Privacy Policy).
2. Deceptive member behavior such as false ages and impersonating other members is not permitted.
   1. Don't sign up for more than one (normal) forum or wiki account. If you have multiple accounts, they will be merged. Note that you're allowed to change your username; to do this, post a request in the technical support forum.
   2. We've recently implemented a “sub accounts” feature that allows you to make secondary accounts on the forum; these are the only allowed type of additional accounts; this feature is currently available to Game Masters, Faction Managers, and Site Supporters (donators).
3. Copyrighted content is not permitted on the wiki unless you have rights to put it there. Copyrighted content is allowed as part of a discussion (“fair use”) on the forums. For more information and DCMA takedown requests, see Terms and Conditions. Do not use the site as an image host or image board.
   1. Promoting piracy and warez is forbidden.
4. Adult content is not permitted on the wiki or in publicly-accessible forums.
   1. Do not upload pornographic images anywhere on the site.
5. Spam advertising is prohibited, and will result in you being reported to blacklists such as StopForumSpam.
6. Do not quote or repost content that violates the rules.
7. Do not undo admin or moderator edits to your posts.
8. Do not vandalize the wiki.

Violations of the above rules will typically result in a forum warning. Your content may be edited to remove content that violates the community guidelines. Multiple warnings, or severe violations, at discretion of the admins or staff, will result in a ban.

Moderators:

• Moderators should edit posts to remove the problem content, replacing it with a notice like: “This post has been edited to remove content that violated the Star Army code of conduct. ~~Admin Wes.”
• When a user commits a violation, they should receive a notice that explains why they were in the wrong and what action we took. This can be automated or via conversation.
• Discussions of rule violations should occur in conversations, not on the forums (excluding staff member issues forum). Attempts to “rules lawyer” moderator actions should be locked.

1. Be original. No characters from other media such as movie, books, and games.
2. Put your character on the wiki. Use the provided template. Keep the page up to date.
3. Until a character is approved by a Game Master or a Character Approver, the character is limited to the Open RP and Freeform RP forums. Once approved by a GM, a character can join that GM's plot.
4. If you want your character to be related to an existing character, get permission from that character's player first.
