The custom Aether Katana was created on the YSS Kaiyō II in mid YE 41 the current primary user is Kiyo but Wulf Soban has the ability to use it, temporarily.

The Itto Hei Kiyomori wanted to make a sword for a while, something extra she can carry into battle and she thought it would be neat to have an Aether Katana especially since such a weapon was used by the Samurai, which she respects and admires. With the advice of her good friend, Fujiwara Saya she went and got an Aether battery from the armory and used fabrication technology in order to produce the materials she needed in order to create her weapon. She would periodically adjust things to make it right until finally, while she slept it worked on not only her Katana but also its scabbard.

Kiyomori’s Silverlight is a single-edged long sword type weapon, but with a slightly curved blade typical of Katana. Her weapon was enhanced with a Molecular Knitting System to enhance the durability further. The Katana is composed of a ADNR (Aggregated Diamond Nanorods) and Durandium Alloy blend to give it a durability, and it was given a Yamataium coating to give the healing factor. The grip was a rubber-coated Durandium alloy, with the length that gives Kiyomori the option to wield the sword with a one-handed or two-handed grip.

There is a kanji for Strength on the sides of the blades in front of the Tsuba. The Guard, in this case, is a rounded type with the design of a Dragon curled around the blade. The grip is in the colors of Star Army Regal Blue. The scabbard is leather made that matches the Tsuka-ito (wrap of the handle) of the sword.

Silverlight, while durable already was given a further durable enhancement using the Molecular Knitting System. The edges of the Katana were enhanced by the Aether, which enhanced the edges of the blade for added penetration power.

Silverlight gets its Aether power from an Aether BU-M20 battery inside the hilt of the weapon.

Activation Mechanism:

The Aether is activated at the moment the pressure mechanism is activated, and the blade is released from the Scabbard, or sheath which begins the effect of the Aether.

Aether effect:

Primarily as a means to save on the power usage of the weapon, the Aether only covers the edges of the blade, which double acts as the sharpness effect. The primary coloring was a silver effect, which is how the Katana got the name.

Safety Mechanism:

Because of the pressure mechanism that’s in the grip of the Katana. This is what allows for the release of the Aether, so if there’s no pressure, there’s no release, which means that while it’s sheathed the Katana would not be emitting any Aether.

Security Feature:

Due to the concerns of someone stealing her Katana, She has chosen to install a biometric lock on her Katana, so that people with her DNA can use it, she further added a Fingerprint lock, due to knowing that even clones had unique fingerprints. She did add a telepathic connection so that she didn’t need to worry about it being stolen, but due to her trust of one Wulf Soban. She added him to it so that he can pick it up and use it if he needed to. If someone who isn’t Kiyomori or Wulf grabs the grip and tries to use it, then electrical discharge will enter the body

Rage mode:

When someone’s very angry, the item they are holding can be gripped at an alarmingly higher rate, and for a weapon such as this, the higher pressure will cause a great deal more ether to be emitted and a great deal more power too. Temporarily the Damage rating will be at a 6.

Charge power:

Silverlight as an Aether weapon is powered primarily by a BU-M20 battery. it also has an Induction charger which, when Kiyomori is in her Mindy, the Katana can use the Induction charger to power it indefinitely by leeching from the suit, via its shields. Unarmored, she can use her own electrostatic field to charge the sword, further pushing the envelope of power duration. Without Power Armor, it should be able to operate for several minutes of continuous usage.
