Zwaarblok is a semi-porous medium weight armor material that is used primarily by Styrling Vervaardiging as a cheaper alternative to Durandium Alloy or Nerimium, staples in Nepleslian designs. A composite material like Steenplast, Zwaarblok is created by interspersing multiple layers of medium density ceramic polymerase with ultrathin sheets of a boron nanotube mesh. The resulting material is not as strong as the material produced if a metal had been used rather than high strength ceramic, but it is fairly lightweight and even easier to produce in large quantities versus Durandium Alloy and other high-grade alloys when metals are unavailable.

The defensive properties of Zwaarblok are comparable to those of Carbon Ring armor, but the armor it known to ablate more when struck with energy weapons. It is much lighter than ultra-dense materials such as Nerimium, weighing a little bit more than pure Titanium and is used primarily in construction, vehicles and large robotic systems.
