The Type 33A Nekovalkyrja is an updated variant of the nh-33. They were made for and primarily appear in the Star Army's planetary operations force, the Legions.

The 33A has sunlight-absorbing, camouflage green skin. Because of its limited skin color, it is not very popular for soul transfer with older Nekovalkyrja, who prefer to resemble humans more closely.

The Star Army plans to use this variant of Nekovalkyrja combined with a possible updated or new power armor to replace the type_33_standard_infantry in YE 36 or YE 37 but plans are still fluid at this point.

The main differences are that a Nekovalkyrja Type 33A is:

• taller; She has a height of 180 centimeters (5'11“) while the base NH-33 is 160cm (5' 3”).
• more massive; She weighs 55kg while a base NH-33 weighs around 45kg (99lbs).
• able to project some solid volumetrics instead of only intangible ones.
• green or teal; she has sunlight-absorbing chloroplasts in her skin cells to extend her operational range. Note that she still needs to eat like any other Nekovalkyrja.

Type 33A Nekovalkyrja first appeared in YE 36 as part of a mass-production effort by the Star Army of Yamatai to bulk up its infantry forces due to the same heightened political tensions that resulted in UNION MAZE and other serious military preparatory action.

As the Nekovalkyrja are now designated as a full species, the archaic “NH” designation has been dropped from their name instead, the Star Army's item-comma-type-year naming convention is used. The Type 33A Nekovalkyrja is historic for being the first Nekovalkyrja type to use the new naming convention first the start.
