Cosmos Star Fortress, NK-X1-08, was a Zodiac-Class Star Fortress that served in the Star Army of Yamatai from YE 30 to YE 42 when it was destroyed in the Kuvexian Advance of YE 42.
Cosmos Star Fortress was constructed in YE 30 and stationed at Scrapyard System (called UX-12 at that time), one of the UX Series Star Systems and gateway to the Ketsurui Military Sector1). It was part of the Star Army of Yamatai's First Expeditionary Fleet and was commanded by Chujo Hamada Nori.
In YE 30 YSS Senbu launched from Cosmos Star Fortress on its maiden voyage2). Also that year, YSS Eucharis passed by Cosmos during Mission 53). YSS Adventure stopped at Cosmos4). A Ke-M2-1H "Mindy" Power Armor was shipped through Cosmos to the YSS Nadare5).
In YE 31, during the Second Mishhuvurthyar War, Cosmos Star Fortress was attacked by the NMX6). The station suffered extremely heavy damage and had to be abandoned and left as wreckage.
As the war shifted in Yamatai's favor, the station was eventually reclaimed and repaired to working order.
In YE 36, Cosmos became part of the PAINT public transportation system. A Tenba regularly visited and provided passenger flights to Shinjuku Starport on Hanako's World.
In YE 38, the Kuvexian War began.
In YE 40, Scrapyard System was targeted by the Kuvexian Military as part of a multi-pronged invasion. The YSS Sakura II led the Third Squadron in assisting Cosmos in the defense of the system7).
In YE 41, Gwendolyn Queen was assigned as the station's communications secretary.
Also in YE 41, the YSS Sakishima regrouped at Cosmos Star Fortress8) after the fall of Hanako's Star. A Kikyo Pie Company opened on the station that year.
In YE 42, the Kuvexian Military invaded Scrapyard System9), bringing Cosmos Star Fortress into battle. It fought hard and took many Kuvexian ships with it, as well as working to destroy Star Army assets so they could not be captured. Cosmos was nearly destroyed in battle once again and, fearing the Kuvexians would try to capture the station, Chujo Hamada ordered all hands to abandon ships and then personally activated the self-destruct10).
