M19 Weapons and Accessories

The following is a list of accessories, weapons, and add-ons created for the M19 Ryoko Mecha. Due to the power limitations of the Ryoko's reactors and capacitors, up to 8 Tier Weapons (TW) and 2 Tier-Equivalent Weapon Group (TEWG).

Shoulder Hardpoint

Weapons typically designed for the shoulder are missiles and indirect support weaponry. Ammunition for a large handheld weapon is also attached to the shoulder but actually are behind the Ryoko. Typically they are attached to the “Planetary” backpack which removes the upper thruster vanes of the Ryoko.

Ke-M19-W4315 Quad Mini-Missile Rack

Consisting of four modified Ke-M2-W2906 Shoulder-Fired Missile Pods slaved together to a single fire control system, the Ke-M19-W4315 Quad Mini-Missile Rack fulfills an anti-armor role. When not in use, the missiles are protected by the pod's launcher covers.

Ke-M19-W4302 Dual Torpedo Adapter

Ke-M19-W4302 Dual Torpedo Adapter is a simple mounting system that mimics hardpoints found on fighters. While useless in a terrestrial environment, they can be used to carry torpedos in a Zero-G environment like fighters.

Compatible Torpedos

Ke-M19-W4319 155mm Linear Howitzer

A lighter version of the 200mm Heavy Railgun intended for mounting on the shoulder. The Ke-M19-W4319 does not require the Ryoko to be immobile in order to fire indirectly on planets. When not active, the barrel of the weapon folds upward to reduce the length of the weapon.

Appearance

The Ke-M19-W4319 155mm Linear Howitzer is made up of three sections, the barrel assembly, the breech assembly, and the autoloader/magazine. The barrel is a simple tube of Durandium Alloy that has a boxy appearance halfway to the breech assembly. The Breech Assembly looks like a wide boxy shape that pivots in the center. The autoloader looks like a crane's counter-weight and remains in the same shape no matter the elevation of the barrel.

Discharge Information

  • Muzzle Flash: Blue ionized air and ripples in the air
  • Retort: Thunderous thunderclaps
  • Projectile/Beam Appearance: Normally not visible to the average eye. High-speed cameras will see the round as if unfired.
  • Effective Range: Indirect: 90 km, direct: 8 km
  • Rate of Fire: 10 rounds per minute
  • Recoil: Heavy, kinetic force from sonic boom will shake the M19 Ryoko.

Ammunition

The 155mm Linear Howitzer makes use of the 155x600mm Railgun Round.

  • Capacity: 25, can be reloaded by another Ryoko with the same magazine block or support vehicles in the field.

Weapon Mechanisms

  • Firing Mechanism: The round within the weapon is programmed on when to explode. The capacitors are then discharged and the electromagnetic coils are activated in a cascading order. The weapon's autoloader then reaches into the magazine, activates a magnet to grasp a new round, and then loads it into the breech of the weapon. The round is then activated (if not kinetic) and waits for programming.

  • Loading: Rounds are fed from a magazine block at the rear of the M19.

  • Weapon Sight: KIES linked weapon sight is used for CAS and direct fire. For indirect, the KIES calculates trajectories and pilot moves the howitzer to the right elevation.

Forearm Hardpoint

Typically used as a connection point for high powered handheld weaponry, small offensive and defensive systems can also be attached.

Ke-M19-W4305 Multipurpose Plasma Forearm Weapon

The Ke-M19-W4305 is a light anti-mecha weapon with offensive and defensive capability (convex shield). It is based on the Ke-M12-W3300 Forearm Weapon, with connections for handheld weapons. The Ke-M19-W4305 rises from its compartment and projects its blade over the hands of the Ryoko. An extended magnetic handguard keeps the hand from moving into the field of fire.

Hip Hardpoint

While small weaponry emplacements can be attached to the hips, the hip hardpoints are typically used for utilitarian purposes.

Ke-M19-W4316 Dual Mini-Missile Rack

Consisting of two modified Ke-M2-W2906 Shoulder-Fired Missile Pods slaved together to a single fire control system, the Ke-M19-W4316 Dual Mini-Missile Rack fulfills an anti-armor role. When not in use, the missiles are protected by the pod's launcher covers.

Ke-M19-G4315 Aether Beam Cannon Generator

Due to the M19 Ryoko Mecha being primarily powered by fusion reactors, an additional aether generator is required for peak operation. Armored with Yama-Dura plating, the Ke-M19-G4315 Aether Beam Cannon Generator is lined with Yarvex and Xiulurium to further protect the generator from spall and reduce its energy signature.

Ke-M19-M4302 Weapon Mount

A specially designed weapon mount for the Aether Beam Cannon and the plasma blade. It can also accommodate other weapons that reduce their size in a similar manner.

Outer Calf Hardpoint (2)

The outer calf mirrors the shoulders with its primary use being the location of missile-based weaponry. Support for additional propulsion systems also exists.

Handheld

Not technically a hardpoint, the hands of the Ryoko do have power/gass supply connection points for supported handheld weaponry (or attached to the forearm hardpoint).

Ke-M19-W4301 200mm Heavy Railgun

The Ke-M19-W4301 200mm Heavy Railgun is designed as an alternative for orbital bombardment and fires missions that do not require high mobility. The Ke-D7-W3200 Mass Driver Gun serves as an inspiration for the weapon. The weapon was developed by Sakura Machinery in YE 42 and given its nomenclature in YE 43.

Appearance

The 200mm Heavy Railgun is a long weapon that resembles a bazooka. At the end of the weapon, is the firing assembly, autoloader, and box magazine underneath it. The whole weapon is made with Durandium Alloy and usually colored in Yamataian blues or black.

Discharge Information

  • Muzzle Flash: Blue ionized air and ripples in the air. In space, there is no muzzle flash.
  • Retort: Very loud and deep thunderclaps.
  • Projectile/Beam Appearance: Normally not visible to the average eye. High-speed cameras will see the round as if unfired.
  • Effective Range: 150 km (atmospheric)
  • Rate of Fire: 5 rounds per minute
  • Recoil: Very

Heavy, shakes the whole mecha when used within an atmosphere.

Notes

While on a planet, the Ryoko (or any other Mecha making use of the weapon that isn't quad-legged) needs to sit in order to handle the recoil of the sonic boom and to aim accurately long distances. It can be used normally, with care, for direct use.

Ke-M19-W4303 Particle Beam Rifle

The Ke-M19-W4303 is designed to be an anti-mecha weapon for direct support missions. Developed by Sakura Machinery for use with sister corporation Ryu Heavy Industries mecha design, it was adopted for M19 used under the nomenclature Ke-M19-W4303 in YE 43.

Appearance

The Ke-M19-W4303 is a sleek, black rifle that shares some features of the much smaller Ke-M2/12-W3903 Coherent Aether Rifle. It has a tuning fork type barrel that is used to focus the plasma particles and project them in the firing sequence. A weapon sight is located at the top of the weapon on rails and the back of the weapon housing cabling to power connections if a Mecha is not compatible with the power connections in the grip.

Discharge and Energy Source Information

  • Damage: Tier 7, Light Anti-Mecha (Beam)/ Tier 8, Medium Anti-Mecha (Continuous Beam)
  • Muzzle Flash: The barrel of the weapon emits a reddish-purple light when discharged.
  • Retort: The weapon emits a high-pitched whine.
  • Projectile/Beam Appearance: Bright reddish-purple beams of light. On continuous firing mode, the diameter of the beam is nearly twice as wide as the barrel of the rifle itself.
  • Effective Range: 150,000 km in space, 50km in atmosphere.
  • Rate of Fire: 1 plasma beam per 3 seconds or the weapon can fire a continuous plasma beam for 5 seconds every 10 seconds.
  • Recoil: Moderate and upward recoil pattern.
  • Capacity: Effectively unlimited as long as it within the hand of the M19 Ryoko. Should it be disconnected, the weapon can fire whatever is loaded once.

Weapon Mechanisms

  • Firing Mechanism: At the squeeze of the trigger, the capacitors within the weapon discharge their energy into the weapon's plasma exciter filled with helium-3 gas. The gas is supercharged into plasma, focused and then accelerated with subspace accelerators. Helium-3 is then reloaded into the exciter, cooling systems activated, and capacitors recharged.
  • Loading: Helium-3 and power is fed to the weapon from the hands of the Ryoko.

Ke-M19-W4310 Plasma Blade

The Ke-M19-W4310 Plasma Blade is a two-handed weapon modeled off of the nagamaki nodachi the corporation's parent Clan is fond of. It was approved for use with the M19 Ryoko and given the nomenclature of Ke-M19-W4310 in YE 43.

Discharge Information

  • Damage: Tier 8, Medium Anti-Mecha
  • Energy Discharge Appearance: When activated, the magnetically contained plasma has a reddish-purple from the helium-3 being turned to plasma.
  • Duration of Operation: Ke-M19-W4310 Plasma Blade can be constantly sustained as long as they are attached to a supported Mecha like the M19 Ryoko Mecha. If the blade is detached from the hands, the blade will remain for a minute before its storage of Helium-3 and battery are exhausted.

Blade Mechanisms

  • Mechanism: A magnetic field is generated from the hilt of the blade. Plasma is then generated from an exciter and directed into the magnetic field.
  • Loading: Helium-3 gas in the hilt's storage tanks is replenished from the Ryoko as it is used. The internal battery and capacitors are also recharged if needed.
  • Modes/Mode Selector: When inactivated, the Ke-M19-W4310 Plasma Blade can be collapsed to a smaller size, allowing for ease of storage within the M19 Ryoko Mecha and safe handling by unarmored personnel. This is accomplished by a series of interlocking joints.
  • Safety Mechanism: A Ke-M12-E3301 Weapon Subcomputer is embedded within the hilt of the weapon.
