Third Fleet

The Third Fleet of the Star Army of Yamatai is composed of 572 older warships, 100 cargo ships, and an additional 204 newer cruisers and battleships that were built before the fleet deployed to retake Essia System in YE 41. It is commanded by hokusai_akiyo.

Composition

The Third Fleet is largely made up of older legacy warships with designs dating back to the First Mishhuvurthyar War. Since its reactivation, the fleet has usually been relegated to reserve or support duty, but has been pressed into service more often in recent years.

History

The Third Fleet's Infantry Regiments fought in the Chaos Hive War of YE 21 on the war-torn planet Ayenee. During the Second Mishhuvurthyar War, the Third Fleet was destroyed in battle with the NMX. At that time it was commanded by Taisho Anzai Saya. It was reactivated again during the Battle of Yamatai in YE 33 and filled with recently-decommissioned ships that were on-route to Virginia Fleet Depot when the battle broke out. A Lorath civil conflict in YE 39 resulted in rebel encroachment upon the territory of Yamataian allies in the kikyo_sector's northeast, and the Third Fleet was sent in as a preventative measure to keep open hostilities from breaking out between the minor powers. Following the Seventh Fleet's struggle to wrest control of the Separa'Shan homeworld Essia from the Interstellar Kingdom Of Kuvexia, the fleet was bolstered with 220 new ships of the line and ordered in YE 41 to retake the occupied star system alongside the Ninth Fleet. During the Kuvexian Invasion of YE 41, the Third initially spread out to secure systems between the ketsurui_military_sector and the samurai_sector. Within days, however, the feet retreated to the Virgo Defense Sector to fortify the Fleet Depot, Star Army Intelligence, and Star Fortress there.
