The SAMIC, Star Army Military Industrial Complex, is a network of cooperation formed between the Star Army of Yamatai and the Corporations that supply it.
The network became solidified in YE 41 during the Kuvexian War but, it existed prior without official designation. The SAMIC is designed to be a mutually beneficial and constantly evolving relationship between military-minded corporations in the Yamatai Star Empire and the Star Army of Yamatai. The Star Army of Yamatai benefits through the supply of advancing technologies and new products, while the Corporations benefit by being paid for supplying them.
Entities listed as belonging to SAMIC are considered major corporations for purposes such as the Military Centralization Act of YE 28 and Corporate Support Act of YE 23.
Star Army Command and Star Army Logistics oversee the selection of Corporations that are used for military contracts. These contractors supply everything from starships to equipment.
To facilitate increased collaboration and cooperation between companies supplying the Star Army of Yamatai to produce the highest quality, most cost-effective products possible.
The SAMIC also helps promote and facilitate the cooperation and collaboration of the different Corporations in the network. This allows for the best products and components possible to be utilized in the construction of Star Army Starship Classes, Star Army Equipment and other goods and services used by the Star Army of Yamatai.
