“Sadly, they refused to sell us anything more than the SS1 and SS2, but the other corps are selling us fighters, but no Starbreakers.” The crisp voice of the Mining Guild’s Diplomatic rep said to the cyborg Deer beside her as the two walked the hall of the Mining Guild’s Draco Eridanus’s Branch building. “Damn! I would have liked some Starbreakers in the fleet, but ah well” Said the Deer after a cyber breath. “What about a capital ship?” But the other woman shrugged her shoulders, causing another curse, as they came up to the great oak doors of the Draco Eridanus Branch office conference room.
The secretary looked up. “They are waiting for you, head on in!” he told the two and the two newcomers entered the room.
The room was large and filled with a great oak table. The Kurosaki sisters sat at one part of the table, and Kali could tell that the two of them were volumetric projections, as they were back in Sanctum. Behind them was a man, who Kali could tell had some family resemblance to the sisters. Beside them was Nicola Walker, the Branch head of Nephis Branch and like the sisters, she too was a volumetric display, as they were volumetric conferencing. The head of Draco Eridanis sat there, in person as was a person in military uniform, a Dusk Orbital Guard representative, and another wearing the uniform of the Kurosaki sibling.
Kali and Alice chose a seat across from the volumetric participants. “I think we are all here, ” said Astrid when the arrivals finally took their seats. Kali noticed the seat occupying the Royal Representative was empty, from both a Volumetric and physical being. “Before we begin, we should make introductions since some of us have not yet met the others, I am Astrid Kurosaki, CEO of our Mining Guild, and with me on my side are my brother and sister, Aeta Kurosaki COO, and Vilkis Kurosaki, Commander of the Night Guard. “ The latter two nodded their heads in greeting. “Alice Sursilvan, our Diplomatic corps” Alice nodded her head to the others, Kali had already met her. “Tammo Sheath, who will be the leader of the night Guard Capitain” The one she’d seen earlier had also nodded. “Draco Omacron, Draco Eridanus Branch head, and Nicola Walker Nephis Branch head” Both nodded their heads in greeting. “Kali Firewalker, who my sister and I have hand-picked to lead the Mining Guild Branch going out of Kikyo Sector” Kali stood and nodded their head.
“Firewalker, I see your related to the director of the Department of Communications?” Asked the DOG rep. Kali nodded “he’s my adopted father, yes, ” she replied.
With Introductions out of the way, Alice spoke first “I’ve told Kali about the response from the NDC higher ups” At this, the representative from the Dusk Orbital Guard shifts uncomfortably in their seat. “Sorry, ” he’d say in response.
“So they are up to speed, then after you sent me the message, Alice, I took the liberty of speaking to Lady Nyx, since we aren’t in a position where we can ask for things like Starbreakers, she as the creator, and member of the royal family does. Lady Nyx had just sent me a message via Quantum, that the military has agreed to send Starbreakers for your use in Delta Fleet, which is the name for the fleet you come up with?” Astrid asked.
Kali nodded her head “Delta Escort and protection Fleet, yes” she confirmed. “Delta Fleet for Short, and simple, and I’d rather not use an acronym for it. “Alice and Astrid both smiled and nodded along with the others. “So it's official then, we will have Starbreakers as part of the fleet?” Kali asked. “Yes, ” said Astrid. This seemed to lift Kali’s spirits. “Good, so we have the SS1 and 2s, and we’ll have an assortment of fighter craft. “
Astrid nodded and pressed a button, and on Kali’s screen data about the logistics appeared. “We’ve managed to scrounge some of these for your fleet’s logistics, and a few people have donated a Misha to your Fleet needs as well.” “wait, Misha, but those are Yugumo ships! Aren’t we going to cause problems for them by taking their ships while they are preparing?”Kali asked with concern on their Deer face. Aeta giggled “I’m so sorry it's just the look on your face is adorable, but I think you forgot about Second chance salvage right?” Kali widened her eyes, she had indeed forgotten about them.
“Many Mining Guild and Draco Eridanus citizens had gotten one, so when we were getting Delta Fleet ready, they donated them to the cause. We had the Engineering Core take a look and do repairs if need be, while also upgrading them using the Chairman specs of Noval’s since we haven't taken them from Yugumo Corp’s shipyards there should be no problems there, though I am sure they will be bothered if a group like the salvagers got their hands on them.” Aeta finished.
Kali nodded and relaxed back into her seat. “Alright, so we have our fleet, oh will there be any base building plans in the ship’s systems?” “Actually, you won't need to worry about a base building, ” said Astrid and pressed a button, on all of their display was the outside view where they see Station Omacron, and the Dracrei shipyards, and another Station Omacron. “What, two Omacrons?” Kali asked as she looked at the screen. “That is your base, it’s a clone of Station Omacron, the only difference is that one can move while this one can't. The Core is calling it Station Decacron, it will have the same interior as here, only with some updates, here and there. It also has a shipyard attached to it, so you’ll be able to fix and build new and old ships.” Said Aeta with a smile on her face.
Kali looked at the images further. “Speaking of shipyards, what is that project being built?” She asked, pointing to the Matte black ship. “About that, ” Aeta said with a wider smile ”that will be your flagship, your capital ship. It’s a Reforged Class starship, with a slightly similar look to another ship we had built as a surprise for Astrid here. The other day we’d hired people to go out to ship wreckages and bring some hulls back. They’d gone to the site of the battle of Glimmergold, and they were able to bring some things back. The Engineering Core began working and using the hulls into a new ship. The class name was because we were remaking something from an old ship. “
Kali nodded ”dramatic, but when it's done, I’d like to put it through a slew of stress tests, weapon tests, flight tests.” She then blinked “sorry! That’s probably obvious, huh?” Tammo just grinned “hey, it is true it's obvious but it means you got a head on your shoulders, but don’t worry I’ll handle that for you”
“so we got the fleet set up, the flag and the base are still being built, but we are on schedule, the next order of business... Who’ll be coming along on this journey?’ Kali asked. “We have a few people from your former shift coming along, you most likely know them, and we’ve tapped a few reserve members, and newly joined members, that’s just for the Mining Guild. For members in other careers on Decacron, we’ve got a few citizens who wanted to be on board Decacron for whatever reason. We also have a few clones, some from original NDC stock.” Said, Astrid
“Speaking of, from Second Chance Salvage... I’d received something that contains human DNA... I’d like to get a clone made of it.” So I had it sent to where that was possible” Kali mentioned and Astrid nodded ”I can confirm a clone was made so we’re transferring them back to join the fleet. it's not related to anyone there so there won't be any issues for inbreeding when it happens.” She finished before Draco Interjected “Speaking of cloning, I’ve had plans for a cloning lab set to be built on Station Decacron, so if need be, you’ll be able to make clones too. You should have enough DNA from both human stock, to take care of the previously mentioned inbreeding worry, and the same goes for the Anthro genetics, as well as Separa’shan genes. “ They finish.
“Alright, ” said Kali ”so I think, as far as I know, things have been going well in the population, and the ship and base situation?” Draco nodded “yup, we are on schedule for the building, and should be able to make it with time to spare before the Motoyoshi and Yugumo planned to leave. “Since Decacron will have a city like Omacron does, what will its name be? Also the flagship, I know it's called a Reforgec-class capital ship, but is there another name for it, something we tell others?” Kali asked. “Actually, I thought that you should name both. Since you’ll likely be using them and being in them. I’d want you to be comfortable.” Astrid said, amid nods from the others. “ok... Then I’d like to name the city….Decaville as for the ship, Durandium Phoenix, ” she saw smiles in the group. “Both names are perfect,” Astrid said, and everyone agreed. “Ok, baring nothing else of importance to discuss, meeting adjourned!” Astrid said and immediately, she Aeta and Vilkis disappeared. Kali and the others rose from their seats and Kali led the way out.
Kali thought silently as she headed to her home, as she thought of packing her belongings for the trip. Movers will transfer her furniture, to Decaville. So she knew she’ll need to deal with the other things.” Kali stopped at a market in the Commercial district, and ordered boxes to be delivered to her home before she got a ride home.
