They are 5'8“, with a lean runner's build. They have dark brown eyes and straight brown hair grown to shoulder length, but within Navy regulation. Their skin is fair, with no tan to speak of. Their left arm from the shoulder is an obvious cybernetic prosthetic, and their right eye is likewise cybernetic but appears biological without close inspection. They have normal human ears. Otherwise, they look very plain, their only distinguishing facial feature being a fairly prominent nose. Their right shoulder is tattooed in black with a stylized bird. Their voice is usually soft and pleasant, but can take on a commanding tone when called for.

Jessie is noticeably quiet and cautious, though friendly. They are more outspoken when under pressure, or when faced with a topic they are passionate about. These include the concepts of egalitarianism, transhumanism, and anything they view as an injustice. They are very proud of their capabilities and always thinks they are smartest person in any given room, though they'd never admit that to theirself or anyone. As such, they can be overly defensive if they feel threatened from an intellectual standpoint. Even so, they are a very amicable and empathetic person, though it may take some effort for others to see it. When on duty, they are as diligent as any soldier is expected to be, but in their free time they have trouble finding the willpower to do much of anything that requires effort. They have a special interest in cultures and languages, and in fact speaks Yamataigo unusually well for a Nepleslian, and is fluent to a lesser degree in Abwheren as well.

While not an incredibly social person, Jessie does feel strongly loyal to the close friends they manage to make. This doesn't seem to extend to their family, as they have fallen out of contact with their father, and one brother who fell into a life of crime. They only occasionally speak with their youngest brother and mother, though they are quite close to them. In general, they will get along with anyone who is tolerant of others and isn't prone to start conflict. They are especially fond of knowledgeable people they can discuss interesting topics with and learn from.

Jesse was born in Haven van Inktvss on Nepleslia in 14 YE. He grew up with few real luxuries in life, but his father, a computer tech at the Biological Processing Center, never skimped on the boy's education, which Jesse eagerly took to from a young age. He focused on his studies throughout his early life until finally saving up to attend Nepleslia State University at the age of 20, majoring in History.

While there, he took an interest in the ROTC program and decided to become an officer in the Navy. By his reasoning, there wasn't much he could do with a degree in History besides teach. Military life would be more of an adventure, and there was so much more to learn and see in the greater galaxy. Upon graduation from NSU and the ROTC program, he entered SMDIoN as an Ensign.

At first, he was assigned to a patrol cruiser to learn from the officers there in a relatively safe environment. During this tour, what was usually a quiet patrol route stumbled upon a pirate vessel and engaged in combat, where Ensign Biesecker performed in the role of Ops watchstander with admirable efficiency for a junior officer.

When a position opened in Yamatai's Task Force Inquisition for a military exchange, Jesse requested it with the hopes of experiencing firsthand a culture he had only ever read and been lectured about before. Biesecker served on the bridge of the YSS Shinigami efficiently, but distinguished himself in a crisis situation when the hull was breached by hostile raiders. When one such alien raider took him and his fellow sailors hostage, he managed to turn the tables on the enemy and subdue it into unconsciousness with a surprise unarmed attack, defusing the situation.

Before returning to Nepleslian space, the ensign came to a new understanding of their gender identity, after being exposed firsthand to the culture of Yamatai. After legally changing their first name to the more gender-neutral 'Jessie,' the officer underwent gender reassignment operations to give theirself a more androgynous body, complete with fully hermaphroditic genitalia.

Jessie's next assignment was to the NSS Highlander, along with a promotion to Lieutenant.

Communications: Having been trained both as a military officer and a historian, Jesse is well-acquainted with reading, writing, and languages. He is versed in all the usual military methods of radio operations, hand signals, and light codes, as well as being fluent in Yamataigo and Abwheren, with a smattering of familiarity with Freefolk and Seraphim.

Fighting: Jesse underwent the mandatory basic training all Nepleslian soldiers and sailors do, and is thus more than capable of defending himself, armed or otherwise. In his free time, he enjoys keeping his aim sharp at the gun range.

Humanities: Jesse has an undying love for cultures and the individuals in them. A large part of their secondary studies included sociology, psychology, and philosophy, and he continues to pursue these subjects into his military career.

Knowledge: Biesecker is very well-educated in a broad variety of topics and has a very good memory for them. What he doesn't know offhand, he can research using the skills earned throughout his life as a scholar. His specialty is History, especially of the military variety, but he has a good handle of most subjects besides.

Technology Operation: Even before attending NSU, Jesse learned about computers from his father. Though not nearly as passionate about programming as he is in history and the humanities, Biesecker is nonetheless proficient with multiple programming languages and operating systems, including the Kessaku OS of Yamatai.

Starship Operations: As a Naval officer, Jesse has committed himself fully to learning all there is to know about operating a starship, whether a capital ship or a fighter. He has logged weeks worth of hours in simulators, and has practical experience as well, though little combat experience as yet.

Survival: Though not a marine, even Navy men and women are expected to know the basic principles of wilderness survival. Jesse is no natural outdoorsman, but he does know how to hunt, forage, set up a camp, and camouflage himself at a decent level of proficiency.
