Yinri Arbavin

A character played by Primitive Polygon.

Yinri
Species: Shukaren Daur
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Height: 4“6ft.
Weight: 68kg.
Organisation: Vlun'har Robotics / Neshaten Division 5
Occupation: Zuia'ne (Engineering Field Attaché)
Current Placement: Division 5

Preferred Plots:

  1. Division 5.

Physical Characteristics

Grouchy, angry, stocky and pear-shaped, Yinri is a small but chunky fox, and pretty rough around the edges for a Daur in general. The head is rather rounded, with big cheeks, elongated fangs, pale skin and blonde hair. They also have a perpetually scowling angular brown eye, through the right one is badly scared and generally covered with an eyepatch.

In a similar vein, the left arm is always in a sling due to nerve damage, and the right one has been entirely replaced with a crude nep-tech bionic prosthetic. Combined with a bad right knee, this effects their mobility quite a lot, though they have a never-say-die attitude, and impeccable reflexes on the defensive. Fortunately their oversized bushy tail and triangular ears help with balance quite a bit, too.

Psychological Characteristics

Yinri, sometimes nicknamed 'Yinrin', isn't exactly what you'd call a born technician. They have a short patience with machines and tend to just hammer them back into basic working order, which is a bit daft considering that is literally their job.

They like to play fight and prove how strong they are… and are rather unwilling to admit that overpowering somebody has anything to do with the oversized lump of Nepleslian engineering attached to them. Bad with words and prone to abusing drink themselves, you'd be forgiven for thinking they are one.

Deep down inside, though, they really just want to be useful and help others. They are easily frustrated by misunderstandings, but would prefer to make fast friends and get along, the less questions asked the better. They try not to think about anything too hard, when the most straight forward solution often works just fine.

  • Likes: Loud noises, guns, bombs, booze, playfighting, clutter, tests of will.
  • Dislikes: Overly litigious people, bright lights, popular music, meaningless chatter.
  • Goals: Effectively become a soldier again, regardless of their career title.

History

Family (or Creators)

Mother: Ves'er (living)

Father: Gul'li (living)

Younger Sister: Me'har (Living)

Pre-RP

Yinri Arbavin had a pretty straightforward life for the most part; They were born to a family of metalworkers in Ka'teneh'ae, and found themselves hanging around with the local Laibe population more than her own kind during her youth. She simply liked playfighting.

They did was pretty much every Shukaren Daur in the area did, and tried to get into the youth brigade service right after education. They succeeded without much fanfare, using their love of roughhousing to get by where their rather basic metalworking skills couldn't cut it.

Their life suddenly changed quite a bit after a Kingdom Fall raid on a port caught their squad whilst taking a basic tour; They were ordered to retreat, but Ka'teneh'ae military pride collectively got the better of them, and they held the line.

Inexperienced and ill equipped, Yinri and three others were severely injured by automatic weapon fire. The squad then promptly broke and ran.

For several years, Yinri thus just ended up as a bit of an embarrassment within the family, suffering the loss of an eye, a busted knee, and nerve damage to both arms that made basically all of their qualifications useless in any workplace.

Despite really disliking the concept of automation and robotics, like most Neshaten, they eventually joined a small upstart company called 'Vlun'har' that was experimenting with imported Nepleslian prosthetics.

On paper, they were leased from Vlun'har to support Division 5 with babysitting the alien technology in the field. Internally, they just wanted a chance to redeem themselves and become a soldier again.

Skills

Technology Operation and Maintenance

Yinri is probably more on the “jury rigging” side of engineering, but is none the less trained and familiar with almost all common Neshaten vehicles and armaments. They also have a pretty unique insight into the newer fields of cybernetics and robot intelligences, though they hold no great love for them. It's still early on in their career, so attitudes may change, but they do have a massive preference for mechanical engineering in general.

Fighting

Well trained but often at a disadvantage on the offence, Yinri prefers to surprise people with her robotic arm, generally striking from under a cloak. They are actually quite tough and have good reflexes, but slow in the open due to hobbling ground speed, and have difficulty holding a two-handed weapon.

In general, they prefer throwing weapons or even explosives, which is rare for a member of the Neshaten race. More often than not, they prefer to be sitting behind some immobile artillery piece.

Fitness

The fox prefers constant hustle and bustle, able to take a few knocks and keep going. Endurance is definitely their thing.

Communications

Yinri speaks Tinacen. Their education otherwise is rather poor, however, with a distinct weakness in linguistic skills.

Knowledge

They completed basic education and know all of the basic history and laws of the Kingdom of Neshaten. Probably not worth asking them to recite much, though.

Land Vehicles

Yinri has quite a bit of experience driving land vehicles in a logistics role, since this is basically what their job at Vlun'har entailed before being attached to Division 5. They can operate almost anything with a closed cab given a few minutes to examine it, though they don't exactly have much experience in combat.

Inventory

Yinri has the following items:

* More random power tools than your average car garage.

  • Credit Card

Finances

Yinri currently has;

Total Savings Addition Subtraction Reason
5000 Rn Starting Funds
