There is a variant of the Scimitar specially made for the SAOY, using some KFY and Ketsurui Zaibatsu parts, which are added after delivery, to increase its performance and bring it up to par with other Star Army fighters on more levels. The nomenclature is OI-V9-2A.

In early YE 32, the 2XF ordered a small number of thse fighters for testing.

This variant is the same as the normal variant, with the following changes:

instead of the Inline Aether to Plasma Drive, it uses Turbo Aether Plasma Drive, which gives it a higher top speed.

Speed: .40c

While this version retains the normal controls of the scimitar, it is also equipped with a SPINE system, allowing direct connections with the fighter for Nekovalkyrja Pilots.

Instead of the standard shielding, the SAOY variant uses a CFS, which not only provides more powerful shields but secondary weapons, stealth, FTL, and defense against phased weaponry.
