• Projectile Resistance Padding: A type of tough, yet flexible material comprised of synthetic spider silk used to protect an individual from small to medium type projectiles mostly used in small arms fire. It is also used to protect against knife attacks. Locations of protection include the torso, back, upper arms, forearms, groin, thighs, shins, and calves.

• Thermasilk: Fire resistance material that makes up the majority of the suit's outer layer.

• Smart Insulation: A type on insulation that swells when temperature drops below a certain temperature and relaxes when the temperature goes up. This enables a soldier wearing the skinsuit to feel comfortable.

• Fluid Reclamation: Since it isn't know how long a battle would last, a skinsuit has facilities to gather urine and sweat from the individual. Filtering the sweat and urine, drinking water is produced to keep the soldier hydrated.

• Life-Support System: The Skinsuit has the ability to keep a soldier alive for three days. It protects the individual from both harsh environments and vacuum.

• Medical Support: With the ability to seal any tear caused as well as the rips that occur when one has lost a limb, medical support a skinsuit can give greatly increases chances of survival. Various drugs are available to stem fatigue, illness, and even help clot blood. It is administered via an injection system controlled by a health monitoring system.

Usually worn into space combat or underneath a Powered Armor for infantry work, the skinsuit is a priceless tool needed to greatly increase the survivability of an Abwehran soldier. There have been over a hundred occassions that a skinsuit has saved a life. More durable than the civilian space suits and much thinner, it is the perfect light armor and environmental suit for the Abwehran Military. Each skinsuit is custom tailored to each soldier who has one. This makes it difficult for anyone but them to wear said skinsuit. They are worn during combat only, with the standard uniform having to be removed before use.
