The Phalange Chamber is a five inch metal or wood-clad cube with a single circular opening that is sold by the Lorath Matriarchy as a curiosity, comfort item, souvenir, collector's item, or quasi-mystical implement.

It entered the market in early YE 38 and is sold at a base price of 100 KS for entry level models, and up to and over 20,000 KS for 'luxury' models constructed of exotic materials.

A product of Lorath neural feedback technology, the 'Phalange Chamber' is a three to five inch cube, with a single interface located at the 'top' of the cube, intended for a user to insert their finger.

Once a user inserts their finger, the Phalange Chamber conducts a brief scan of the user's tissues, ascertaining their galvanic skin response, nerve behaviors, and preforms an analysis of blood pressure, pulse, and O2 saturation. Gathered data is used to determine the most favorable sensation to impress upon the nerves of the user, for their finger to perceive as touching.

This data is then used by the Phalange Chamber to calibrate before inducing artificial nerve impulses through electromagnetic excitation of the nervous tissue or equivalent structures within the inserted finger.

Notably, a Phalange Chamber can be programmed to produce a single sensation, or a select number of sensations. Some Phalange Chambers have been configured as seemingly cruel pain inflicting devices, while others are used to reproduce treasured memories of touch.

Due to the relative simplicity of the product's form, many variations of the product exist though the differences are superficial ranging from patterning, imagery, and occasionally precious materials plating or construction such as gold, platinum, or gemstones.

Through another feat of Lorath Matriarchy marketing initiative, paid content producers have taken to the posting boards of various communication networks, speaking on the topic of Phalange Chambers, assigning exaggerated value, and creating a mythos around the product.

To this end despite the recent release there are already circulating stories that certain models, are superior to others creating an atmosphere of elitism for certain designs lending them to be coveted and more eagerly sought out by some demographics.
