Developed in ER 750, but wasn't put into actual service until ER 773-v. The Excellious was created for the Hikares Orbital Defense Station to serve as it's main cannon array. Commonly referred to as 'Excel' by the engineers and crew who service her, the weapon was designed to reach out and touch any object that threatens a Neshaten world.

Excel fires a solid-state laser provided by the stations onboard weapon generators which are powered from a planetside based reactors. The stream resembles a pulse, even though it's in reality a solid state. Once fired, the cannon needs to cool down which can take upwards of five minutes, during which multiple vents open up along the cannons lower and top portions to vent the heat out into space.

Once cooled down, the cannon is primed to be fired again.
