Modular Gravitic Network

Found only on the largest of neshaten vessels and on stations, is a the M.G.N., a system that was designed in ER 733 and put in place to make repairing and replacing of turrets easier than sending crews out to manually do the job. The systems works by layering a network of gravitic rails along a ship or stations hull which runs parallel to turret hard points, these rails operate in a similiar fashion to mag lev.

A crane runs along this rail system, transporting turrets, or even other kind of equipment such as sensor masts, jamming masts, or counter jamming masts. This crane use's a gravity based clamp to latch onto the object that needs to be replaced, then carefully removes it from its housing before it is placed in a 'basket' located on the rear of the crane. Then, the object is replaced either a similar one, or one other.

The gravity rails are not in operation while the ship or station is in combat, due to the effects that such close-quarters gravity would have on turrets. Instead, the system is only used when there is no combat and when there is a measure of safety that repairs can be performed.

The La’zerus Class Carrier is the first ship to use this system.
