“From the Ashes, Justice” - Unit Four motto.

• The Special Investigations department was created after slavery became illegal. It was foreseen that slave trade would continue in the criminal underground, and Special Investigations was meant to pursue slave rings with the goal of eradicating the trade entirely from Yamatai. Special Investigations soon came to include cult cases, weird murders, and more. The psychological impact of some of these cases soon made the department a volunteer-only force.
• Unit Four was created at the same time as the Special Investigations department, and widely regarded as unlucky for its name – Four, or “Shi” in Yamataian, means “Death”. Quickly it became a dead-end post, where screw-ups, politically unsavvy, and eccentrics were sent to serve the rest of their years in the YNP. Unit Four was destroyed in Malifar during Battle of Yamatai. It was reconstructed in early YE 34. Agent Araiah, an NH-29 and veteran of the First Mishhuvurthyar War, took the reigns of Unit Four.
