The Mission would involve a planetary expedition for Motoyoshi Eidan and the rest of his 紺碧軍団 Konpeki Gundan (Azure Legion) Team investigating the planet as a potential colony site. It would involve the team spending several weeks camping on the surface of the planet to research, collect samples, and investigate the planet's unique biosphere. (See SYNC - [Yugumo Merchant Spacy] Takagawa Hitomi)
As the Taka-class shuttle prepared to depart from the ISS Evenstar, Eidan felt anticipation coursing through his veins. Glancing at Kuroko, who sat in the other chair, he remarked, "Right then, here we go..." With a gentle release from the mothership's docking bay, the shuttle glided gracefully into the open expanse of space, leaving the familiar comfort of the Evenstar behind. Through the shuttle's windows, Eidan and his fellow crew members witnessed the vastness of space, with distant stars flickering like tiny beacons against the velvet backdrop of the cosmos. They watched as the Evenstar flashed into hyperspace, knowing that their lifeline was not immediately available, as it was needed to defend the cargo lanes between the Sharie System and the Kikyo Sector.
As the shuttle descended into Maridor's atmosphere, they could see the planet's surface gradually coming into view, its breathtaking landscapes unfolding beneath them. Crystal formations sparkled in the sunlight, casting prismatic reflections that mesmerized the observers. Luminal meadows stretched as far as the eye could see, their iridescent hues painting the terrain with an otherworldly beauty. Serene rivers wound their way through the landscape, their shimmering waters reflecting the twin suns' warm embrace.
The shuttle's descent took them closer to the crystal-laden surface of Maridor, revealing even more of its wonders. Magnificent crystal cliffs rose majestically from the ground, their sheer surfaces glistening in the sunlight. A soft, ethereal mist hung over veiled valleys, adding an air of mystery to the landscape. In the distance, bioluminescent flora illuminated the terrain with a soft, enchanting glow, casting intricate patterns of light and shadow. As they descended, they spotted the parachutes attached to the four small shipping containers containing the bulk of their gear, descending next to them.
As the shuttle approached the chosen landing site, Eidan leaned forward, his gaze fixed on the terrain unfolding below. He noted the serene "water" source nestled amidst the crystal cliffs, its tranquil surface reflecting the surrounding scenery. Clusters of vibrant vegetation dotted the landscape, their colors contrasting beautifully against the shimmering crystal backdrop. The air was filled with the faint hum of Maridor's natural energy, a palpable sense of life and vitality that pulsed through the land. "No one opens a hatch until we have a chat," the shipmaster reminded them.
Finally, with a gentle jolt, the shuttle's landing gear made contact with the crystal-laden surface of Maridor. As the engines powered down, Eidan could not help to look from face to face in those seated in the cabin behind him, it was the same crew but the mission seemed so much bigger now that they were from the Evenstar.
