Re: [restart point] Mission 2

As Yukari stepped into the large, open Sensor Dome, the lights dimmed. In the center of the room, a large volumetric projector stirred to life, throwing up a star-studded globe with Yamatai as its center.

The gold of Yukari's ribbon flickered briefly on a bit of the dimmed light. She went to one of the multiple, semi-crammed workstations and took up a headset, which she placed on her head.

"Attention," Yukari said, the message projecting over the entire ship with a soft loudness through nearby comm stations or, failing that, the communicators most carried on their persons. "Our mission briefing will be starting in four minutes. Our mission briefing will start in four minutes. Please report to the Sensor Dome as you are. Thank you." The message ended, and Yukari took to the controls of the volumetric projector.

The image it cast into the air gently rotated, though after a moment of her fiddling with it, it switched to the area around Nataria. Star Army ships dotted the area around the Depot, while several other Mishhuvurthyar vessels appeared poised to attack.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Unlike her fellow crewmembers, the neko didn't go out of the way to inspect her room nearly noting where it was and having no objection didn't feel like having to check it out. Plus she didn't have a bag or anything so...

Yuril merely followed Yukari and waited in the Sensor Dome calmly and patiently for the briefing to begin. She figured afterwards she could have time to meet the veteran crewmembers face to face.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Asher said:
"Pssh, just hand out some band-aids and stuff'em in tha' Mindy compartment. It saves tha' trouble'a trainin' a Combat Medic, and keeps us juss' as safe."

Masako frowned a bit in response as she looked at the armor pilot with a hint of annoyance. She had been completely serious about a combat medic in their midst, especially with what had occurred last mission.

Takuma said:
"About the combat medic, that sounds like it could be a good idea. It may be easier to just have someone available to teleport or carry the injured soldier back to the ship, but sadly, that's not always a luxury we have. A dedicated field medic would be excellent in that situation. If any of the new recruits seem acceptable, I'd go for it."

"Agreed," she replied before sighing. "But Westwood-Hei brought something to mind with his jest," she said calmly. "Just how effective would a combat medic be when all of our power armor pilots are just that...armored. Their main job would end up just transporting wounded back to the ship rather than treating them on the field, since our suits will pretty much do our first aid for us," she responded thoughtfully. "All in all, I may just be jumping the gun with thoughtless plans. I will have to plan once I meet our new pilots," she affirmed to herself.

Yukari said:
"Attention, our mission briefing will be starting in four minutes. Our mission briefing will start in four minutes. Please report to the Sensor Dome as you are. Thank you."

Looking towards a nearby communications station in response to the sudden speech from their executive officer, the young warrant officer turned to face her comrades with a smile on her face. "Well, introductions to our comrades will have to wait. The mission briefing comes first," she said as she motioned for the two taller individuals to follow as she turned to head towards their destination.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Miyoko rose from her seat, pausing to stretch before she exited the room. She was pleased with herself--making tactical recommendations that weren't outright wrong or so trivial that Nyton could brush them off was a new one on her. She still didn't particularly care for tactics, but simply proving herself mentally adept at a task was enough to drastically buoy her spirits. For a while, all worries about her age and the upcoming mission were banished.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Natch, looks like I did neglect to cover the Armor factor on the Ayame. Nyton thought to himself as he stood up. He quickly moved on to leave the bridge and catch up to Kotori enroute to the meeting place.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Kotori's swift strides ate the distance between the bridge and the sensor dome quickly, the short hop in zero-G on the way merely trivial. The Taisa made her way inside the port entrance of the dome and saw two of the newer sprites working to set down folding chairs prepared for the occasion of the presentation - like last time - and that Yukari was already present.

The Taisa walked to her XO, greeted her with a smile and asked: "Do you think Tom will make it?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora's attention had lingered on Yukari's ribbon until she noticed a familiar figure enter the sensor dome. The younger Ketsurui's posture straightened when she saw her aunt appear and she quickly bowed, "Hello, Kotori-Taisa."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Yes," Yukari said, looking up from her control panel. She had to readjust her pupils; Kotori's eyes always caught the light funny, and it fuzzed her vision for the briefest of moments. "He was finishing repairs on the cannon before I sent out the call to briefing. I will page him."

Yukari used Sora's greeting to Kotori as an exit. She paged Tom telepathically with just a small "din don!" sound.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Sora-Kohosei," Kotori greeted her 'niece' back pleasantly, with a nod acknowledging her bow. "Please be seated," she then added to the other new arrivals. "We should get started shortly."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Looking up again with a nod to Kotori, Sora took a seat as she was directed and waited patiently for the briefing to begin. Her attention had started to wander for a moment and then she noticed the gleam in her aunt's eye with a smile. She blushed softly and simply watched her captain as politely as she could without being rude.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Kai sat down in one of the chairs placed in the room by a sprite and assumed an upright posture, trying to make a good impression. He watched intently at the others in the room, silent since the captain was present.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sanjuro bowed deeply when the Taisa addressed him and the others. After he was finished, the Yamataian quickly swept himself over towards one of the seats and sat down, assuming the same rigid, board-like sitting position one would come to expect from him at this point, and folded his hands across his lap. His expression as he watched on was one of...nonchalance, at best. Still, he was paying attention.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton soon arrived at the Sensor Dome and paused at the entrance briefly to take in the faces of all those already present. He then walked over to Yukari and gave her a quick nod in greeting. "Everything looks pretty good, Yukari-san. Nice set up. Is Kotori-sama giving the entire briefing again like last time?" he asked in a hushed tone since he knew the brief would begin any moment. As Nyton spoke he noted everything around him and cross checked it against memory files. The new crew members faces were immediately named and placed from the personnel roster. New records in his memory were already filing mannerisms and any personality nuances that he captured. He was looking forward to becoming acquainted with the new crew.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

A short journey from her last position to the sensor dome caused the short warrant officer to arrive a little after Nyton. Bowing politely towards Kotori and the other officers, Masako caused her loose, shoulder-length hair to sway before looking up and survey the room with eyes that were almost the same color as her hair.

Her eyes seemed to focus on each individual for mere seconds each as she moved from the entrance to a seat. Conscious of the fact she was wearing a skirt, the young armor leader sat with her knees together and her legs slightly angled so that her feet were next to the chair leg. Folding her arms upon her lap, she sat quietly as she observed her surroundings.

Isn't this the second time I've been on a ship with two Ketsurui? Masako pondered as she thought back to her extremely brief time on the Nozomi. No...the Taisho had already left if memory serves me. Meaning this is a first. she thought before sighing quietly. She didn't pretend to be an expert in the Ketsurui family line...after all, who was she to observe and record the royal line?

Where are those two, she thought of Takuma and Asher, glancing back towards the entrance. Were they not following right behind me?

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Yes," Yukari said as Tom returned her page -- he was on his way. "I will introduce the new crew afterward. By holding the briefing first, we can be sure they will stay."

Yukari knew some of what the briefing would hold, but not everything. For now, her job was to support Kotori's explanation of the Miharu's next mission.

Tom and Ichigo made it to the Sensor Dome just a few seconds later. They were filthy by Star Army standards, but Tom still had his trademark grin on, teeth gleaming in the dim light as he turned it toward Yukari. She smiled back, then turned to the volumetric projector.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa had hurried to the sensor dome after depositing his and his lover's belongings in their newly assigned room. He straightened as he reached the hatchway that led into the dome and bowed courteously to his superior officers before taking a seat next to his busty female counterpart, Sora. The scientist sat unnaturally upright as he waited patiently for the briefing to start. His serious expression softened a little when he noticed Sora's sparkling reassuring smile and the warmth of her hand over the top of his.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton left Yukari to her duties supporting the briefing and walked over to where Masako was sitting. He gave her a nod with a slight smile before sitting down in the chair to the left of her. As soon as Nyton settled into his chair he crossed his arms, donned a neutral observatory expression and leaned over slightly to whisper.

"How are preparations going in the Armor bay?" Nyton asked in a low tone.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"We've gone over most of the equipment in our inventory," Masako responded with a smile at the tall Nepleslian. "To paraphrase Westwood-Hei, we have enough arms to start our own private war." she commented as she looked at some of the new faces.

"Most of them are just out of basic, aren't they," she whispered with a hint of concern.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yoroko followed everyone else into the sensor dome. She took a seat next to Serizawa. When Kotori entered the room Yoroko bowed then sat down. As other people filed into the room, Yoroko realized just how many additional people were on this ship.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton confirmed Masako's remark with a nod of his own. "We mostly have fresh trainees and a couple of experienced soldiers from another ship." he replied, also in a whisper. Nyton then studied the faces of the new arrivals for a moment. "Funny how seeing such young faces can make you feel old. Although given how nice you look in your uniform, I don't think you are ready to be an old maid." he said plainly before immediately following it up with his next question. "How do you feel about taking on the responsibility of integrating them into your Armor wing?"
