Alastair's Quaters, a few days after the meeting with Hanako.

Alastair sat looking at the data pad that laid before him. He let out a soft sigh as he let his mind wonder. After many sleepless nights he was ready to get to work. His meeting with Hanako was eye opening and revealed that he had much left to learn. It broke his heart that she knew of a problem yet he had no solution in the moment. This was a weird feeling and a place he did not find himself often. This once more reminded him that he has much to learn if he wishes to become a leader of a fleet one day. It would be his job to see the big picture, to know issues before they happen and most importantly, have solutions for those issues. He was humbled to be put in his place during that meeting. For he knew if one let their ego get ahead of them they would become blind to the issues around them. Thinking back his reply regarding his sister while a valid reply, had missed the mark.

Alastair leaded forward and rested his chin into the thumbs of his hands. Was this answer to her woes? Could this honestly be this simple of a task to complete. He replayed her words over and over again in his digital mind. "Struggling to produce enough good captains." Each word then broke apart in his mind. "Struggle," he said aloud. He knew the struggle of having the time to put into action. "To produce," he once more said aloud. Alastair leaned back and ran his hand through his hair. He pondered this phrase as there seemed to be no shortage of being able to make more captains. Star Army had enough vats to flood the Universe with whatever they needed. No, there was more meaning behind this. "Good captains," He called out as he stood on his feet. Acting as if he was stating to a room the main objective. What could this all mean and why would she share such a concern with him. He had asked but she could had just as simply smiled and said the war was doing great. It was just the day prior that this really clicked for him. She said, "It is not a job that can be taken lightly." A phrase that seemed so simple at first, she was just describing the job of being captain. This however was the misleading part of this phrase. Firstly, she was no longer a captain, granted she no doubt knows what it means to run a ship. For Alastair, he is a captain, living the dream as one would say. It was only when he looked at the next part that everything clicked.

He was now pacing in his office. Running over countless paths he could take at this very moment. Was he sure he read the sign correctly. But it had to be this, for it was the most logical thing given all the facts. He had missed the point so she had to go about this in another way. This was yet another case of him learning how to read the room. It would had been simple for her to give an order. This would had removed any question of the task to perform. But this was exactly the reason she did not give an order. For she knew he'd had performed it flawlessly, beyond her expectations even. This is exactly why she could not give that order, for what does one learn from following. She wants strong leaders, captains of her fleet able to think on their feet and perform to perfection ever task. It was clever, almost scandalous how she went about this.

Her next question was directed at the compound. Questions regarding the stories and myths about the family home. His defense of this was so rehearsed that he quickly jumped to this recording. She then quickly closed the meeting with him. At first he felt he had offended her by his reply. In fact had he gotten the hint from before, she'd had ended that meeting even sooner. Only for his benefit did she waste those precious minutes to give him yet another clue. Thinking back on his reply and the message she was trying to send caused him to blush. He had little doubt he was one of the few so bold to ask this of Hanako. Granted this would have been a great solution to the problem. Yet again though, if she wanted this done it would only take a snap of her fingers. This is why she ended the meeting in that very moment. Clearly she was always busy but he had indicated he got the message, that he knew the punch line.

Alastair stood at attention as he looked at the door into his office. He once more ran his fingers through his flowing long hair. This was then followed by a long, drawn out sigh. He had a reputation for this but it was anything but true. Though on the bright side he knew they would be most excited for this chance. It was how this all clicked for him in the shower. Who better than the great captain Alastair who has this reputation. He tugged at his long silk robe that he wore and smiled. The logo of Star Army embroidered across the back of it flowed in the artificial wind.

"Hoshi-MEGAMI, let us get this show on the road." He called out as the door slide open.
