Treaty Between the
Yamatai Star Empire
and the
Ixari Consensus


Whereas the Yamatai Star Empire wishes to recognize and create a state of peaceful and mutually prosperous relations with the Ixari Consensus, we mutually agree to enact and follow to the terms of this treaty:

1. The Yamatai Star Empire and Ixari Consensus agree to maintain friendly, honest, and peaceful relations and communications with one another. The Yamatai Star Empire and Consensus agree to make at least one diplomatic communication with each other per month.

2. The Yamatai Star Empire and Ixari Consensus agree not to commit malicious acts against one another or employ others to commit malicious acts against one another.

3. Both the Yamatai Star Empire and Ixari Consensus will recognize all ranks and titles bestowed on a person by the Yamatai Star Empire, its member states, or The Ixari Consensus.

4. This treaty is valid immediately upon approval by both governments (or the leaders thereof) and lasts forever unless both parties agree to nullify it. Both parties must approve any modifications to this treaty.
 
1. The Ixari Consensus will now be recognized as a self-ruling state under the Yamatai Star Empire. This does not require any change in government or leadership. All citizens of Ixari will be recognized as citizens of the Yamatai Star Empire with the rights and freedoms thereof.

Er, I don't think the Ixari would agree to be part of the Yamatai Star Empire at this time. I think we should go for an alliance. If they want to join the YSE, that'd be fine...but before giving them a treaty that needs to be talked about. Just asking them to join the YSE without any pretense could even be considered insulting to the Ixari.
 
Speaking from the standpoint of what happened with Fenyar, I know that having them be under the YSE is just not going to work, I agree with wes. It's insulting to think that a race is going to be under someone else, without any prior negotiations.
 
Just to STAMP firmly on that one, lol, the Ixari will never become part of the YSE as long as it is roleplayed by me =P Not to sound arrogant myself of course but its not in my plans at this present time.

The seemingly revised treaty is fine though.
 
Maybe something added about mutual recognition of sovereignity?
 
Nothing like that needs to be added. No one has came to the High Council and said 'Do you want to be part of the YSE' and no one has said yes or no. If that was the case then the Ixari would have said no and that would be added onto there. I dont think its necessary.
 
If the Ixari are not recognized by the Yamatai Star Emire as a sovereign nation, then no treaties can be made. Recognition is the difference between a state and a nation; therefore, it should be added to the treaty, or it will be need to be done in another proposal that must pass voting before the treaty can be voted upon within the YSE, or by an Imperial Decree by the Emperor or Empress.
 
Would the Ixari be interested in adding a mutal assistance clause to the treaty? This basically would mean that both sides will offer aid to all ships of the other side that are actually in distress and have requested help, even military ships.

This could be very helpful as space travel can be a nasty business to even the most technologically advanced of species. The downside is that this could lead to situtations that states hostile to the YSE could label as acts of war on the part of the Ixari, and vice versa.

We could further modify the clause. Limiting the offering of aid to only civilian ships will probably avoid the pitfall that I stated above.
 
There cant be a mutual assistance clause, because it involves opening fire on a vessel and that simply is against most Ixari regulations. The Ixari would enter the battlefield with other types of aide, such as rescuing surviors aboard crippled vessels and the like but that is about it.

And i get your drift wes, you may add that.
