Antimatter Munitions – Lorath Design.

Designer: Velor Tomoe Tur'Lista
Manufacture: Lorath Psionics House, Lorath Warrior House.
Intended Use: Anti-Armor munitions.

Information: When the Lorath first encountered the YSS Sakura, a significant threat of assault was apparent, thus development of a new weapons system became a priority. When it was found that much of the Lorath weapon technology was inferior to the armor technology of the "Grand Star Army of Yamataiâ€

Um... they've already developped something like this? In the span of a few hours?

DocTomoe, I don't mean to tell you the Lorath can't develop some impressive weaponry - in fact, need s often a great motivator... but so far, the Lorath seem to have been able to reverse engineer a subspace communication device (which is, to boot, relatively small) and anti-matter based explosives?... in under a day???

Seriously, that kind of stuff ought to take months, if not years to develop >_< Even the Star Army of Yamatai don't hatch up new military grade technology that quick (I'm refering, for example, to their power armor progression : just go look at how the aether weaponry developped over the years and it should sort of express my point).

The Lorath already had antimatter development technology, and containment, this is just a matter of launching it at the target. Even while IC I noted that the Lorath have antimatter supplies.

ON: Lor, Royal Palace.
Tomoe looked to Yosef after finishing with tapping at the console; he then let out a deep sigh as in his mind he realized. "This is futile, unless I was to harness our anti-matter supplies... but first I should find out what this alien has in mind." Tomoe walked towards Yosef and along his walk he passed a table that held a palm top computer device that also had a stylus with it, Tomoe then presented the device to Yosef. "Here, this is a computer interface device, its wirelessly connected to the computers in this palace; modify it as you see fit to allow for you to use it with ease."

Additonaly, the timeframe between the arrival of the Sakura, and Rufus' threat, and the departure of Tomoe and Destiny from Lor to Yamatai has not been stated yet. Plans can be written up in no time, the production of the weapon in quantity would be the thing that takes time.

and short-term distortion of subspace at the area of impact.

No

There isn't much discription here, so not much of a responce can be made. You should include more discription on what the system looks like, how it operates, and how much power is released, not just saying that you have some anti-matter in a magnetic field.

Ah, pardon me, I forgot to edit that out in this thread. I removed that bit from the other one that was on the topic of the delivery method. Sorry bout that bit of confusion.

Oh, I thought you meant the time between Yosef first meeting with Tomoe and Kotori's talk with Destiny. That would have been pretty darned quick ^_^;

No problem, small missunderstanding. ^_^

Getting the AM to the target is a much larger endeavor than you are implying. After all, the West had explosives for quite a long time before they where able to make a rocket. The existence of AM generation and containment technology is most definitely a necessary thing here that they luckily posses. The containment system, however, would have to be greatly reduced in both size and weight (with weight probably being the problem). They might already posses such components, but keep in mind that much of the miniaturization present in many components today started do to a military imperative for more effective weapons. If such reasons did not exist on Lorath prior (don't know here I'm afraid, I don't know much about the Lorath) it is not remotely unreasonable to assume they never had a need to expend resources on developing them.

Beyond that, I would think the guidance system would be the most troublesome item to develop, especially with an ability to intelligently guide its path and anticipate a enemies actions (i.e. create counteractions on the spot). Such a thing could very well take many, many years to develop, even if they already posses the ability to make AIs.

Due to recent revealations of the Lorath's technological level, I would like to know what needs to be done to this technology to make it feasable and approvable.

Sorry, man. I know I really haven't been on the ball with this whole forum, but I hesitate to approve things since I don't actually know the tech so well myself, and I can't move things out of this forum.

I suggest approval.

Approved, but where would they be getting the anti-matter?

Well, after the whole moon falling on Lor thing... I am not exactly sure. Current antimatter supplies would not be enough for mass production of the ammunition, but as plot moves along, I am sure the Lorath will build new antimatter generators with the help of their allies.
