While not as well-equiped as the ship's fabrication area, this new hangar at least offered some privacy, and a whole lot less regulations. Using several of his wooden carts, Jax had built a second level which hung out over half the space. This, he used as his personal workshop, turning his minute ideas into reality.

Currently, the nekojin stood over a SMX battlepod which he'd come into possession of over the past couple of months, dissecting it and learning how it operated, that sort of thing. From his communicator on a table nearby blared Aethersperm's newest album.

The sound of offensive rock echoed throughout the hanger giving Candon a pretty clear indication that the man he needed to speak to was present has he stepped out of his silver government provided Zephyr. As he entered the hangar he was surprised to see a second floor, something he was confident was not built to code. Defying gravity he floated up see a wild Jax in its natural environment. Anyone who knew Candon would know that he could either shout for whistle louder than the music but that definitely was not the approach he was using considering he was the beggar today.

Arriving on the floor of the Nekojin's Workshop Candon made a telepathic handshake with the blond man's brain

This caused Jax to visibly jolt where he stood. He'd been so engrossed in his work that he hadn't even noticed Candon floating just a few meters away. He stopped his music and gave a small wave to the operative.

"'Sup?" he greeted rather unprofessionaly.

"I need money from my rich friend," Candon answered tactlessly, "I'm starting a business and a school on an undeveloped planet. Wanna play economics?"

Jax snickered a little at the word "rich".

"If you're talking about that giant crate of gold over there," he said, pointing his screwdriver towards the storage space below. "Good luck. I may not be an economist, but I know that that box isn't exactly worth much in an empire that can make gold appear in thin air. What sort of planet are we talking about?"

"The planet is known as 188-604. It's inhabited by basic humans who have only primitive technology. If I can get around 30 million KS I can build the school and hire on a few captains," Candon explained, "profit might take a couple of years to come in but I'll make it happen. I'm sure someone will be trying to stop us too, I'm creating a preemptive solution to that too. What do you think?"

Jax considered the offer. Hell, not like he was doing much with the gold, anyway. And if what he was saying was true, his gold would be worth a ton on this "188-604". And it would be nice to have a steady source of income in the future.

"Uh, yeah, sure. Let's do it. Out of curiosity, who'll be trying to stop us?"

Candon shrugged, "probably nobody, but I'm not giving anyone the chance. I'm going to use the business to locate the worst criminals in the sector on the side... just a personal hobby."

Jax raised an eyebrow and whistled.

"Sounds badass, if you ask me." he mused. "Yeah, I'll help you. Oh, and if you're looking for a freighter pilot, you should look up a guy named Flynn Blackburn. Knew him from high school. Last time we spoke he was leaving the Nepleslian Navy after flying cargo during the Second Mishhu War."

Candon nodded, "Military training is nice to have in a captain. We have about a week before we're back on Eucharis. If we got him a ship do you think he'll be able to figure things out on his own- like, find jobs and such until I establish more of a business?"

Jax nodded.

"Yeah. Flynn's always been industrious like that. He's a 'streetman'. Came up on 'that' side of the tracks if you know what I mean. Always managed to keep out of trouble, though."

Candon nodded again. "Alright, then let's get a couple of tons of gold sold so we can get that ship and contact Mr. Blackburn. Did you get a price from the SAoY yet?"

"Yep. Two million KS per ton, actually. And I've got forty tons." Jax replied. "Haven't sold any yet, but I can do that pretty quick. Trick is that I have no clue who owned the gold before the SCSC got its hands on it, so selling it directly probably wouldn't be the best idea."

"That's nice, I'm going to send you a number for a Nepleslian broker," Candon ordered, "He's going to give you a quote. Take it and don't ask him any questions. He hates explaining himself."

"Alrighty. I'll get on it right away." said the mechanic. "Anything else?"

"Yes, I'd like to meet Mr. Blackburn," Candon answered, "just call me when the cash is available and I'll have the ship ready."
