Do ST backups work on pets?

If ST works on pets... Could I take my dog and put it into a Neko body?
IMAGINE THAT! You tranfer your dog into a Neko body or equivalent ((Maybe Minkan)) and you teach it to talk and such. Its still your dog, you still need to train it, but now it can do stuff! Like feed itself, and go to the bathroom, and go on walks by itself. Download it into a body that is permanently like... 6 years ol and send it to daycare with other such modified pets! Have gangs based on the different species at the playground, and maybe some toddler turf wars! I think this is an excellent idea and someone should make it a thread!

I think some expert-level work would need to be done on the mental data to get the "software" to work fine with the "hardware" but I suppose it's possible. This would be like the poor man's version of an animal uplift, lol.
But I could see being used for evil, too. Envision this creepy scenario: At an upgrade clinic people are getting new bodies, converting human ones into Minkan. But secretly a rogue employee is taking the old bodies to a secret lab instead of disposing of them. At the lab shady people are uploading animals into the bodies--the horniest they can find, and then putting them into some red light district brothel in Funky City where they eat out of a bowl and get humped by paying customers who arrive covered in peanut butter.
Do we really want to have humans running around with animal brains? Aren't there enough dumb, animal-like people in the world? Maybe uplifted animals should just go in anthro bodies.

But that is the whole point! Everything could be used for evil, and lets face it they can be taken to red light to lick peanut butter off people's junk in an anthro body just as effectively if not more
