I'm bored and I haven't seen this thread type up here. What are your favorite gaming/movie/show soundtracks?
It can be a single song or a whole album. I'm gonna start us off with a few.

My favorite melody from any Mario game I've played. (and it got a badass edit mix in SMM https://youtu.be/JMDC_vAtYcU)

Transistor's soundtrack in general is amazing. I can't really pick a favorite so I'll just put this one up.

What are some of your favorites?

Guardians of the Galaxy is my favorite. Also like Game of Thrones, Tron Legacy, Harry Potter, and Firefly
 
Because I've been re-watching this show lately. Babylon 5 has EPIC music :D



For game music, Secret of Mana is about as amazing as it gets in classic RPG music :D



And also in gaming, Total Annihilation is amazing!



Next on my list is from a documentary tv series called The Blue Planet. Absolutely epic music. Also check out the scores for Planet Earth and Deep Blue documentary series, also written by the same composer.



And from another documentary series. The original documentary series. Victory At Sea. This soundtrack is something special. Written by Richard Rogers and Robert Russel Bennett is something worth repeated listens! Probably THE GREATEST television score of all time, if not one of the greatest scores of all time, hands down. I also highly suggest watching the series. The entire run is up on youtube. Worth the time spent to watch.

 
Transistor for sure. As games go, I'm also really fond of NieR, really fond of Final Fantasy X, and, hm, really fond of Mass Effect 3.

If you let me start rambling about my favorite incidental music this will turn into a neverending post, but I think my favorite movie score is probably Requiem For A Dream. If not that, Black Swan. Clint Mansell is a fucking wizard.

Ramin Djawadi is making a strong case for his inclusion in the top tier lately, too. Westworld has an incredible soundtrack. I initially wasn't that impressed with Game of Thrones, but last season? He did some absolute magic. Let's round this out by bringing up Cowboy Bebop because oh-my-fucking-god I could listen to Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts playing blues-pop-jazz for literally ever.
