COMMAND AKURO GROUP (CAG)
Led by the YSS Akuro II, the command group is comprised of the most powerful vessels the 5th has at its disposal. These vessels act as both command centers and training grounds for officers and enlisted both. It is also home to the famed 17th Power Armor wing, Kasairyuu. The Star Fortress Akina no Iori is separate from the group.

NAMIKO CARRIER GROUP (NCG)
Led by the YSS Namiko, this group acts as the primary base for most of the fleet's power armors. Formerly had some responsibility for repairing and maintaining armor wings through rotational schedules, but the introduction of the Anri-class elminated that. Three aged Irim gunships are attached for rear guard defense, with the other large chunk of the fleet's Arashi escorts providing point and area defense as needed.

SHERIDAN ASSAULT WING (SAW)
The YSS Sheridan, favored by Motoyoshi-Taisho, was promoted to the head of the fleet's primary assault group. Using older Irim gunships, Ayame cruisers reassigned from planetary defense, and old Yui 4g stealth destroyers, the Sheridan Assault Wing is the cutting edge of the 5th's sword, which is why it is made of older (but arguably more durable) vessels.

YUMIUKI ASSAULT WING (YAW)
Given roughly the same mission profile as the Sheridan Assault Wing, the second assault group is designed to go in front of one of the carrier groups and remove hostile vessels. It has 12 Irim gunships compared to the SAW's 14, and relies mostly on lighter Yui 5 destroyers and aged Ketsueki escorts for surgical strikes. Currently it is undersupplied, as many of its vessels are on order or being constructed. It has only one Ayame at its disposal; the ship is considered the centerpiece of the group.

Used mainly for recon work, the mission pool has all of the 5th's Nozomi/Yui 6 scouts, with some Yui 5 destroyers on order to fill its ranks. The scouts are expected to see a lot of use during the incursion of the SMX in Yamatai space.

TAIIE PLANETARY DEFENSE GROUP (TPG)
Led by the venerable Dainslef, the Taiie Planetary Defense Group is the last line of defense for the colonized planet. Relying on the last of the fleet's Arashi escorts, the force is commonly split up to cover certain hemispheres of the planet. While several Irim gunships are to be constructed, the planet right now is building its own ground defense force of old Hoplite variable starfighters and converted freighter craft.
