As Dehy flipped around he saw the legions of power armors flying out of the hanger a small smile grew on his face. He couldn't help but feel excited. He quickly regain his stability then looked around. There wasn't much to see the massive ship blocked the greater portion of the battlefield. Turning to his left Dehy saw nothing but a distant nebula a couple AUs away. Looking to his right, he saw his allies flying towards the unknown enemy. Finally look behind Dehy saw the empty husk of a dead hostile. The mech looked as is it took a Plasma cannon shell straight to the lower right torso with every thing above the hip and below the shoulder gone. All that remains is the blood stained edges of the pilot and the amour. Clinching his rifle closer to his chest Dehy mumbled to himself saying "That won't be me. Not by a long shot."

With a tear trickling down his face Dehy left the scene in a blast of radiation from his rockets. " Alright we have our orders." Dehy said as he approached the rest of his squad. "I don't see the Edmund anywhere which means one of two things. Its either hes lost or he's dead either way we got a battle to win. We'll go on with his formation and make a b-line for the top of the ship. There we chill-ax and think of our next step." Dehy started to divert all available power to his thrusters. "If we going to live we need to get from here to there as soon as possible. If anyone has any objections or recommendations say it on the way. For now lets get a kill-streak."

Everything was quiet - the comms were half dead, with static and voices washing in and out. Occasionally, a few snippets would make it through, but it only got worse to the point their communications suites simply gave up. For most, the feeling of powerlessness was to be expected as some depressing words were splayed across the HUD of their suits:
Code:
TRANSMISSIONS JAMMED

As an unrecognizable hulk drifted by, its edges still glowing orange, it was painfully obvious that the space around them was littered with debris from a fight ended perhaps moments ago. This graveyard wasn't filled with just friendlies however - scorched pieces of hull painted puke drifted by while a bisected rifle lazily spun end over end. But soon, they cleared this field of scrap and leaking reactors. Before they could even lift a finger however, the seasoned marines were coming into view. "Hey, it's the fresh meat - I thought they didn't put their underwear on in time for that airlock cycle?" a man's sarcastic voice came over their comms. Another, more crass and heavily accented, quickly replied,

"Aw shucks, it the newbies? I dun wan any of 'em in mah squad, cuz I reckon they'll get us killed!"

"You do know that if nobody takes them, they will just follow us like lost little puppies, yes?" a third voice smoothly chimed in, prim and proper.

"Quiet."

The singular word, spoken from a stern sounding woman, silenced them in an instant.

Out of the formation in front of them, another Hostile - its camouflage turned nearly pitch black to match the space around it - went to join them. With mere puffs from its propulsion system, the armor was able to slow down enough that it fell behind from its own group and towards their own. Once it was close enough however, their heads up displays marked it:
Code:
CHIEF DIADOTTIR

"Brandon, you have my squad. The newbies will go with me," she calmly spoke over the comms. Turning her attention to them, she quickly gave them an order; "All of you scrubs, spread out! Random grouping! I want at least 500 meters between everyone and the nearest person to them." Quietly watching the fresh marines move through space, she soon spoke again to the lot of them, "Sound off your names so I can put a voice to each of you - after that...I'd bet a beer that you all have no clue what's going on, right?" Even as they all hurled through space at the planet below at who-knows-how-fast, even though they were all heading into combat, even though her face couldn't be seen behind that skull shaped helmet, one thing was plain as day.

That Díadóttir was amusedly grinning at them all.

The medic gave s slight jump of the shoulders when she felt a hand rest on them. She turned to quickly look at Kara as she reassured her that they would watch her back. Forcing a false smile she nodded. She was somewhat fond of the other girl because they had both spent a great deal of their life outside of Neplesia in their childhood. "Make sure there is a backside left to fix and I promise I'll take care of you guys." Rei murmured trying not to think about what would happen to them if something went wrong with their armor and it depressurized. Her eyes narrowed as Dehy goaded them on to get moving. It was difficult not to be on edge and irritable in their current situation.

She grabbed the rifle that was passed to them deftly. She did not suffer from a shortage of hand eye coordination. She checked the battery charge habitually before looking back up at the instructor. Heading to the hangar she marched with the rest of them her mind focusing on Edmund once they arrived. He had been in charge back in training so he had some experience organizing the group.

Rei held her breath when the doors opened even though she knew that she had her own life supp0rt system. It was an old habit she had picked up during training and now it was tough to break. following Edmund's directions she shifted her loction to the right flank just in front of Kara. Luck was on her side today and she wasn't launched off. She kept her adjustments and thrust to a minimum for now.

"What the hell is going on..." Her voice was quiet, over the communications channel. It was increasingly difficult to hear anyone because of the static and interference in her ears. Eventually her HUD told her that the comm was jammed. It was not a difficult thing to figure out on your own.

Tightening her grip on her rifle she focused on an inbound suit. Her HUD labeled it as Cheif Diadottir, but she wasn't familiar with the name. She did know that the person was a higher rank, so it was a relief to have some measure of direction. Rei moved farther away from Dehy, still sicking to his right side. As directed she spoke her name in a clear voice over the Comm. "I'm Rei Whitman." That was all she said because she didn't want to talk over anyone else .

Before Kara could reply to Rei, the hangar doors opened and something tossed her out. She held tight on her HPAR as she tumbled in a panic. "Fuuuuuuuuuck!" She shouted at first, before she got hold of herself and used the thrusters to stop herself. Then another problem appeared. Where the hell was up and down? Nowhere, that where it was. Kara righted herself along the ship they just left so she had at least some orientation. She quickly checked where her squad was on her HUD and activated her thrusters to followe them.

A war in a pocket. That was last thing she needed and before she and her squad even finsihed up the boot camp. Kara just hoped they were ready, that they were more then just meat for the grinder. Kara would gladly stay out of the fight for as long as possible. It was not that she was afraid, well she was, but not that much. She just knew she was unexperienced and this was surely no ordinary battle. It looked like a big chaotic skirmish, where you are lucky if you know who the enemy is. It surely was different that gang fights, Kara was used to. Especially since back on Yamatai, her fights was mostly comprised of punching other biker punks like her. She used to be proper Yankee. The worst she did was outriding YNP once or twice.

That of course changed when she got to nepleslia and there gangs did not fight with fists all that often. Guns came into play and that was scary, but she handled it then. Now marines were another gang for her and the game upped from handguns to power armour and Heavy firearms. It was more strict, there were morer rules, but that was how it always went. Kara knew her place here and in her mind the place shoulds not be in this bloody battle. Too late for that.

Kara caught up with rest of the gang and followere near Rei, until they met the real deal. A proper bunch of bloody marines. Kara hoped she will make it through the day and become proper bloody marine herself. These guys of course did not wait too long till they mentiones the rookies dying or causing others to die. Luckily the squad was adpoted by a tough sounding lady marine. That was good, because she would give them some direction.

"Scrub Kara Yamomot reporting," Kara sounded off. "I got a bit of clue. We are in space somewhere fighting some enemy. Meh I guess you would win that beer ma'am."

"Sorta," she replied to Kara. "It's all groundside now, and we're desperate to get as many boots on the ground" Dia partly explained to them all. "And I"m guessing cat's got your tongues? Too bad - we're going to reenter in a few. Just follow the waypoints your suits se - "

Her voice was washed out in static.

Space was dead silent, but re-entry was another thing entirely. A faint rumble soon became a non-stop roar as their energy barriers caught the edge of atmosphere for the first time. Besides this protective field, only a few inches of armor at best was all that stood between them, and the bright glow of hot plasma - for everyone involved, it felt like they were being shaken apart on a journey straight into hell. But in an instant, the worst of it was over - below them, clear as day, was a sprawling metropolis. It wasn't built up like in Nepleslia's core worlds, dense collections of skyscrapers or not. They were all relatively new and yet to require a second level to the city. Crashed in the center of it al, however, was a ship, battered and burning. And still shooting back.. "Accelerate to the ground now!" the Chief yelled at them over the comms, warnings popping up all over its hull as Aether Beam Turrets came to life.

Spears of pure white energy lanced out through the sky in an attempt to shoot them down, a handful smashing smashing into a nearby Hostile as it attempted to dodge - the barrage briefly splashed, glancing off its shields before follow up rounds punched through, burning past armor and detonating the reactor in a fireball.

"Gather in the park, Point Eight Kilos below us!"

"If anyone sees an explosive I call it!" Dehy said as he landed on the ground. Raising his riffle with his body Dehy slapped the belly of the riffle into his palm grabbing the barrel he reloaded. "So if you guys don't mind me asking are we going to live or die today, cause I am NOT". Dehy paused for effect then raised his riffle in the direction on the ship. "Going to enter that Son-Of-A-Bitch ship over there. Nope! Not Happening! And have my body inserted with weird-ass tentacles ." Dehy turned around swinging his head side to side."Am gonna end up like Edmund dieing on my first battle."

Just as Dehy looked up he a group of moving figures heading for them,"Magnify X-10." Dehy Said as he tried to figure what he was looking at. His eyes widened as the words flew at his mouth." Awe SHIT WE GOT RIPPERS!" Dehy shouted over the comms. He quickly got his rifle into his hands and began aiming at the upcoming targets.

Edmund felt a sinking sensation wash over him as his scans for his squad mates proved to be futile. He assumed that his last minute thruster adjustment to avoid being cleaved in half by the hull of the ship sent him spiraling on the wrong trajectory entirely. All he could see before him was the glowing wreckage of a ship from what appeared to be an intense, albeit short, space battle. Debris littered the area in the form of scrap metal, floating equipment, and bodies that had explosively decompressed. The marine couldn't help but this it was funny that the sight of such carnage didn't even phase him in the least like countless entertainment productions attempted to portray. He was more concerned with finding his squad.

"Any Alpha one-one element, this is Alpha one-one, do you copy? Over." Ablerich called over the coms in an attempt to reach his squad but received no response. Perhaps the floating hull obstructed the line of sight for the communications. "Any Alpha one-one element, this is Alpha one-one..." He began repeating his message as he maneuvered around the wreckage in the hopes of getting a response. "Terry, Dehy, Kara, anyone...?"

A message soon appeared on the marine's HUD that indicated that all transmissions were being jammed. "That figures." Edmund muttered to himself as he crested past the wreckage to see the bright glow of the atmosphere below him. The ship had taken near orbit over a planet during or after the engagement it appeared. Edmund could even see various space marines flying planetside. He wondered if that was where his squad had gone when he became separated from them. He hoped that was the case. The alternative would mean that they were most likely vaporized when they cycled out of the airlock. The man looked above him towards the ship that he now had a clear view of to see if there were any bodies to be found. As if on cue, Edmund's HUD began populating with waypoints to the planet himself that were most likely blocked by the wreckage.

"Well, here goes nothing." Edmund said as he was getting ready to join the ranks of marines heading planetside when he picked up movement among the wreckage in his peripherals. The marine instinctively fired his thrusters to put a piece of debris between him and the movement he saw as cover just as several blue beams fired at his previous location. The man froze behind the debris for a moment as his heart pounded in his chest and his heavy breath began fogging up his visor. A second later he poked his head out from the opposite site of his covered position to see if he could get eyes on who or what was firing at him, but his visibility was obscured by all of the float garbage. Edmund then picked up another quick movement from one covered position to another before several more blue beams were shot at his position. The man ducked behind his cover once more for protection. He had been able to catch a glimpse of what was firing at him. Someone slipped inside what looked like an emergency EVA suit right before their ship was torn asunder. Judging by the debris of the ship and the humanoid figure in the suit, that person was an apart of the NMW, specifically a cloned NH-29. That would explain the EVA's quick mobility without discernable heat signatures. Nekos manipulate gravitational forces within a localized area to propel themselves forward.

Four more blue shots tore away at Edmund's debris as he demonstrated tactical patience to understand whom he was facing. But his cover was wearing thin and the NMX pawn was maneuvering on his fixed position. Now that he understood the threat, he needed to take quick and decisive action. Knowing that his position was observed and suppressed by effective enemy fire preventing him from maneuvering, Edmund decided to try a less-than-orthodox approach to his predicament. The man braced behind what little cover he had left as he observed several more blue shots tear away at his cover. Edmund immediately fired all of his thrusters at full blast towards the reverse angle of the shots. The idea was to assault the Neko's position in an unexpected manner that would force them to move out of the way in the very least if not be rammed by a debris wielding powerarmor flying at full speed. Numerous shots of hot plasma tore away at the metal but Edmund did not relent. Each shot told Edmund what adjustments to make until finally he rammed into something solid, causing the man to go tumbling into space and use his thrusters to right himself twenty meters away.

Looking around, the marine saw the lifeless body of his enemy tumbling along the same path he himself had been knocked. He immediately closed the distance with the NH-29 to confirm his kill. Once he caught up though, he could tell two things. The first was that this clone was a female and the second was that she was very much alive. She would have been killed if she were human but the fact that she was a Neko spared her life. She was only rendered unconscious, possibly a concussion but Nekos could easily recover from those kinds of injuries, couldn't they? Edmund looked down at the woman he was holding in his arms. She held an exotic beauty with her purple hair and olive skin.

This was the face of his enemy? They didn't seem so much different than anyone else Ablerich ha come across on back home or through his travels to Yamatai. Should they really be fighting one another? What was the issue even about? Edmund chuckled to himself. 'Look at me thinking like the good politician Dad wants me to be...' Still, there was wisdom to be held in that insight. She may be his enemy but right now she harmless and in need. Did she really deserve to die? Ablerich already knew what his answer should be...

The man made sure to search the Neko for any more of her weapons. Once he was satisfied she was unarmed, he looked for the next thing all EVAs have. An emergency locator beacon. Edmund activated the beacon for the unconscious woman before saying. "I'm sorry, this is the best I can do for you. I have a mission I have to complete." Taking one last look at the helpless Neko, Edmund whispered. "Take care."

The lone marine turned back towards the planet below him. He had lingered too long, the last of the marines were beginning their descent to the planet. He would have to push his thrusters to the limit once more and adjust his trajectory mid-flight if he had any hope of catching up with the main element. He wasn't even sure what to do once he landed down below. "Screw it, I'm doing it live." Edmund said as he shot off towards the planet and what he hoped was the rallypoint where his squad would be.

A planetfall? Really? On Kara's first day? In first battle? What a ridiculous notion, especially since that was only something she did in a simulation. But the chief was serious enough and soon the squad of scrubs was starting to fall into the atmosphere of whatever hellhole this planet was. The planet looked awfully big and Kara suddenly felt like she was very very high up. This fall won't be fun.

"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" Kara repeated as she started gaining speed and her armour made its way down. The blaze of hotness covered her armour and she was sure, she will burn alive soon. Kara was that close to panic, before she noticed the Chief. While other were moving around, turning their heads or flailing in panic, Chief was just falling, letting gravity and the armour do everything for her. It was as if this was really nothing for the veteran soldier.

"Well if she can do it, then so can bloody I!" Kara said to herself. She remembered what simulation taught her. Leave it to the AI. It was programmed for planetfall, so Kara told it to do its thing. Then she just waited. It took some time, but they burned through and the geshring could see a city now. Or what was left of it. NMX ship was nestled in it like a pile of crap in middle of nice dinner table and the Kara's squad and other marines, where shovels to get that crap out of there.

Then the ship started firing at them. Kara said some poor guy explode into little bits as the ships cannon hit it. She knew that maneuvering and moving would just make her fall uncontrollably like a rock. She just did not know how to handle her Hostile that well yet. So she let the AI do what it did and prayed to all gods to protect her.

The orange streak fell from the skies at several hundred miles per hour, a blast of fire and flame coming out of its pack to slow the fall only moments before it landed. A powerful, earth shaking impact rippled through the dirt, soil beneath its feet compacted into something akin to rock.

Red iris dilating, the Hostile took everything in.

The entire squad had landed towards the edge of a nice, open city park that was depressed a handful of feet down. It looked like a killzone, but she knew better. Being filled with rolling green hills and trees, that meant there was plenty of cover if a person was smart enough to use the terrain to their advantage. They just had to hide behind the reverse slopes, and try not to peek over the crests or get their heads shot off in doing so. Like their formation when coming in, there was still a good amount of spacing between them all - good for not getting fragged by Triple-A, but not so much when fighting on the ground. Her powerful suit took heavy steps walking up the berm that separated the park from the city's cement. Looking more closely at her recruits, and the city ahead of them as well, she realized something else. Almost all of them had landed face first. Except for one. Perhaps. She couldn't get a good enough look at all of them and tell quite yet, because what she saw made her blood run cold.

Screaming was everywhere. Men, women and children were all running in every direction they could find as the city burned. As weapons fire in the distance became closer and closer. As figures started to close in and cut them down. One in particular, a single Heavy Power Armor, painted in a mottled puke-tan camouflage scheme, waded into the fleeing people. A wickedly toothed blade sprung from its wrist before raising it above its head, the weapon bursting into furious, blazing white Aether-Fire to strike down a young woman and her child. But before it even touched them, the glare had their skin and hair catch on fire, blackening their flesh as they slowed and began keeling over from the heat. And in an instant, the blade came down, turning them both to gray ash in the wind. In front of this machine, just a few dozen meters away was a single human figure, clad in heavy armor of his own and heroically bringing a rifle to bear. The alien machine took notice of him and smoothly turned to raise both of its arms.

"F&$%ing IDIOT! YOU'RE OUTGUNNED!"

Dehy's rifle spat hypersonic jets of liquid metal, striking the energy barriers of the alien hard enough to punch through and begin blasting small holes into the surface of its armor! But it didn't mind, didn't flinch, replying in kind. Both of its forearm guns rained a hail of energy blasts onto the young man, rapidly draining his suit's energy reserves, but it didn't stop there - a cannon unfolded over its shoulder and locked right onto him. Swearing, Dia launched a quartet of mini-missiles, just as the 50mm Gauss Cannon thundered, air rippling in the projectile's wake. The massive, two inch wide shell shoved its way through Dehy's weakened energy field and smashed into Nerimium plate, sparks sputtering as though a massive grinding wheel had struck, toppling him over. At the same time, Flames enveloped the Ripper as missiles detonated and fuel in nearby cars burst - the very tar within the asphalt caught on fire. Acting fast, the Chief fired a burst of gravitons from her Push-Pull Plate, instantly yanking him across asphalt and cement and over the lip of the berm, into the lower park.

"Get up! It only rung you like a bell! " Chief Dia yelled again, kicking him with the back of her armored heel while keeping her weapon trained on the flames. He was stunned, with a shallow moon-crater in the suit's chest, but she was right. "Get up, you son of a - "

Heavy footsteps plodded through the softening, melting asphalt, the flames silhouetting the Ripper as it strode forward like a hellish, unrelenting nightmare.

Rei squeezed here eyes shut for most of the reentry. She periodically opened her eyes to fix the way she fell. Se wasn't sure she had felt anything so uncomfortable in her life before. as the ground got closer and closer the medic became more convinced that she would screw up and break every bone in her body. Luckily she was thinking clearly enough to not let that happen. It was a rocky landing on her backside.

She lay there a moment catching her breath. The fear of being killed before getting to her feet forced her to sit up and roll into a upright position. Perhaps it was the coward in her but the first thing she did when she was back on her feet was hide behind a substantial tree. What really got the medic's blood boiling was watching , without fully realizing the extent of what was happening, a woman and child getting cut down by the enemy. Not long after it was after Dehy.

Cringing she restrained herself from screaming his name. She needed to keep her head. This wasn't a simulation. If they weren't careful they could all die right now. Rei lifted her weapon up peering into the fire looking for that monster in power armor.

The hellish sound roared as the suits thrusters kicked in. The meteor of an armour started to slow down as Kara followed her unit down on to the planet. She felt the force of the slowdown, after all stopping the armour after it flew threw atmosphere was no easy task. Then she hit the ground. Her knees, even with the armour on felt the impact and she breathed out and hissed. That was a bit too much of a ride for her. The young woman knelt forward, half in attempt to ease her knees and half to make herself smaller and not get shot.

Kara looked around and saw the unit landed in a park. Small hills and trees everywhere, which was lucky. She quickly ran to the nearest bit of ground that stuck out and fell behind it. She breathed heavily, familiarising herself with her HUD, she noted where the rest of her unit was. She saw red light on Dehy, which said to her that he was under fire.

Kara got onto her feet and ran, the chief and Rei was close to Dehy as well. The raven-haired geshring lumbered forward, trying to move as fast as possible. She ran into young three and shattered it, toppling it down and falling to ground next to it. She scrambled up to her feet and kept running, her eyes darting around. What the hell she got herself into? They just landed and one of her teammates was already in danger. Why did she ran that way too? To get shot?

Kara did not know, but she kept running. Soon she saw the chief, she was firing her rifle along with Rei nearby. Dehy was laying on the ground by the chief, but he seemed alive. Kara ran up next to Rei and aimed her rifle up. She could see the silhouette of something large moving in flames, that was also the was other two women were firing. Yamamoto raised her rifle, aiming it at the shade in the light. She did not shout, she did not curse. She acted as drill instructer taught her. Shouldered the rifle, aimed and started firing.

Like a relentless machine, the Ripper marched forward out of the flames, its eyes glowing a brilliant red.

Spotting the Marines but unable to get a good shot at them thanks to the terrain, it burst into a flat out run. The machine weighed hundreds of pounds, but moved as fast as a lion, its two arms rising to fire. Both Kara and Dia were peppered by the spray, weakening their energy barriers, but the shoulder cannon bore down on Rei! It boomed, the massive round hurtling at the young marine. The round punched clean through the earthen cover and burrowed deep into the ground behind it, tossing dirt and grass about - it missed as the three poured their fire into its armor plates, fields depleted. Sparks showered off of its hull as hypersonic lances of liquid metal peppered the machine, a trio of rounds from Kara's long, upward cutting burst went smashing into the gun and sent it yawing to the side.

But even then, the machine continued to sprint at them. Dia aimed low, her shots snapping leg blades off before the limb was blasted away by the knee, sending it tumbling. And it still didn't stop - like an armored brick, it went end over end, only to finally land mere feet from Rei! Instantly recovering, un-phased by the catastrophic fall, a white-hot aetheric blade slashed out!

Kara knew what to do now. Enemy was on the ground in front of herself and Rei. It was on the ground and could not get up, but it still had some nasty blade thing. What Kara was about to do, was not something she learned by joining the marines, but on a street. It was a bit insane and her heard thumped as she moved forward, slinging her rifle on her back and jumping.

The plan was simple, jump with her Hostile on the back of a Ripper. Hostile weighted 2000 kilograms, give or take. Ripper did about tenth of that. Physics says this should hurt the Ripper. And if the material the NMX armour was made off would be too hard, Kara planned to follow through, drop down on the Rippers back and locks its blade-arm in a wrestling move, making it easy kill for Rei. That was a plan, making it a thing now.... well that was the catch.

The Battle Grew hotter as time went on as did Dehy's pride as he watched his female comrades save him. Shrugging the ruble off of his torso Dehy rose silently upward. To his surprise the same Ripper that he was prepared to remove from existence was still kicking and taking liquid metal shots. Dehy began stare at the Ripper intensely. His fist clinched up so much that his armor began to bend on its self. Dehy slowly began to walk forward passing Kara then Dia till he was lined up with his slowly retreating medic. The remnants of what was a complete Ripper where lunging and swinging in all directions while moving close to him and Rei.

Dehy could feel the confusion he was cause by just standing there motionless. As If Time had no meaning Dehy's arms rose out of no where which were than covered by the smoke of the Mini-Missles he unleashed from his arsenal." SERVIVE THIS BITCH!!!", Dehy shouted as the flashes of blinding confirmed impacts met there target. The blinding series of flashes where like a good movie to Dehy. Dust and debris flew in all directions. The final indicator of confirmed kill was yet to be seen Due to the smoke from the multiple impacts.

It all happened so fast.

Rei instinctively leaped back as the Ripper at her feet nearly cut her in half, the young woman's barriers weakening from the near-hit as the plates on her chest and waist glowed with a faint red line. It was getting hot for her. Even with this failed flail, the relentless machine wouldn't stop for anything, pouncing and swiping at her a second time with its one good leg and both arms like a rabies infested animal. Right then and there, Kira came in like a blur, dropping down from the air and stomping it with all two tons of her weight, the powerful impact sending a tremor through the ground as the soil beneath the Ripper compressed, its back plates and thruster assembly crumpling in from the massive blow.

And it tossed Kira off its back like a wounded bull - its body, built like a Yamataium Ant, made it light, but absurdly strong, sending the woman and all her heavy weight flying! A massive fist smashed into all of them as an explosion enveloped the three in an instant.

Shaken and rattled, both Rei and Kira were pummeled by the splash of Dehy's entire complement of high-explosive missiles, their energy barriers almost completely depleted by the close range. As the Ripper's corpse smoldered, an empty husk of burned out servos, brains and light, thin, yet strong plates, Dia smoldered. The other Hostile approached him, its red monoeye glowing with a cold menace. "Dehy. Try not to kill your teammates. You're lucky I only ordered you to have HE." Turning away, she yelled over the comms, "Second and Third Squads, move up to my waypoints!" buying them a few moments as several other boots began to gather.

Eying the newcomers, then moving over to Rei and Kira, she asked, "You two Boots alright?"

Kira fell on her back, she saw that her barriers were down and she was unsure what happened. Something flashy showed up and were it for not her suits shields, who knew what would happen. She noticed the tiny blips of the battery icon as process of recharging rebooting itself. She hoped her shields might recharge, before she ends up fighting again. The problem was, what made the flash. What made the explosion. Dia's shouts made it all pretty clear. Dehy tried to kill her.

Kira jumped up and got on her legs. She pointed a finger at Dehy. `You moron, are you tryin to fucking kill me or what?` She was very, very angry and adrenaline made it worse.

The medic's reaction time wasn't as good as it should have been if she had proper visibility. The chaos around her wasn't helping her nerves all that much. The near hit from the shoulder cannon made her tense up and to continue to fire at it hoping that she could help take it down. Everything moved a little too fast for her liking. when she managed to realize that it was in fact running right at her she poised herself to jump out of the thing's reach. She jumped back nearly losing her balance as he energy field lost more of its integrity from the attack. The relentless mech kept coming at her. A tiny scream escaped her lips as she tripped over her own legs desperate to get away from that blade. Right when she thought she was dead for sure Kira, true to her word jumped on its back. This allowed her to shoulder her weapon again. Before she had a chance to fire at the enemy an explosion envoloped them all knocking her back to a laying position.

Rei curled up tightly trying to protect her vital organs in case the worst were to happen and she lost shield functionality. She remained in a curled position until she heard the others begin to talk and ask how they were. She was too shaken to be angry with Dehy. She didn't really blame him for doing what he did. It was there first fight, and they were hardly ready for real combat mistakes were bound to happen. Breathing heavily and slowly She got to her feet. "I'm okay. I feel like I've been put in a tin can then rattled around... but It could be worse." Most of the damage done had been mental. She set a hand on Kira's shoulder. "Lets just not fight about this... Sure it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but we aren't dead. Thats what matters."Her own voice sounded hollow as she spoke.

"Ha. Pretty much," the woman in charge smugly agreed, her voice cool and level. Nearby, perhaps just a half block away and out of sight, was the sound of thunder and mayhem. The deep and heavy staccato fire of HPARs was met by the unmistakable automatic whines of energy weapons.

"That was one hell of a mess-up, but I'm not angry." Just by hearing the woman's voice, they could feel she was likely smirking at them. Her Hostile's red monoeye was looking far off into the distance, but it quickly snapped to, centering on all of them. "Why? I don 't have the time to tell you all, and you guys sure as hell don't have time to hear it all - the Tee El Dee Arr version is that you're all new, we knew you were new, and knew stuff like this might happen. Big deal," Ylfa explained, her words bluntly casual. Bending her knees, the woman leaped in her Hostile to land on the asphalt street above the sheltering slope that kept them out of view. She saw the asphalt had turned into black glass and white ash where the Ripper was first blasted, the nearby cars melted as though from a giant blowtorch had hit each in turn.

All around the park, the various buildings ranged from nice, middle or upscale apartments to shopping centers and supermarkets - what she saw, was a single city street entering a T-Section as it met the one which ran along the park's side. This street lead straight into the heart of the city, and it was littered with cars for flimsy cover, and many buildings to the left and right of it that were two or three stories high, half of their windows left intact from the earlier scuffle and blast. "Ok - the other two squads just pincered the force that the forward unit we just killed came from," Ylfa began to explain, her earlier cool and relaxed voice now taking on the body and volume of a hardened marine. "You two, newbies, with me - we're going to stay at ground level either taking cover among the toasted cars, or the buildings." Turning, she then addressed the remaining three.

"Kira, Rei, Dehy - I want you three to take the high ground since you guys were at the front last round. Get into those buildings above ground level and hide; don't shoot until we do, or you're spotted. We want to lure them in so that you three will be the hammer while I and these two are the anvil - " a small, blue and orange mushroom cloud erupted nearby as a reactor was breached. "They're getting close! Move!" she bellowed at them all.

With a reluctant sigh Dehy got his Hostile in motion. "Hey Kira am sorry about nearly killing you earlier." As the young marine climb the build with ease his voice took on a sympathetic tone. "Next time I'll be sure to let "What" kill you instead." The cocky remark morally slapped his previous apology to the ground as if it was nothing and to top it of he ended his statement with a sly snicker.

Reaching to his destinations level Dehy started to move into position seeing bullet holes and explosive remains inside the apartment complex stopping at one of them as he saw another hostile barley moving. As Dehy went to investigate the hostile already knew of his presence. Taking out a Unknown item from one of it multiple compartments all the dieing solider could utter was, "Complete the Mission". Though Dehy's curiosity tempted him to open the Unknown Device it was soon overtaken by the sounds of battle as the NMX Ground troops gain more ground and got closer to Dehy.
