What do you call yourself?

Tertius.

How'd you find Star Army?

Browsing Sci Fi Navy articles on TVtropes.

What interested you in joining?

I’ve always been a fan of Sci-Fi RPGs. Recently, most of my gaming group has moved away, so I’ve been looking for somewhere to get my RPG fix.

Ever done this text-based roleplaying thing before?

I have not. I’m hoping it might improve my writing.

Any previous experiences you want to share?

Not particularly.

Now for the questionnaire!

Do you prefer:

  • Playing male, female, or other-gendered characters?

    I prefer playing male characters.

  • Spontaneous or planned RP?

Both are fine depending on the situation, but I prefer planned.

  • Military or civilian characters?

I always enjoyed military characters more.

  • Humans, androids, anthros, or aliens?

Humans predominately, but I like playing aliens if I understand the race well enough.

  • Being on a starship or being on a planet?

I’ve always found adventures on starships more exciting.

  • Roleplay via forum posts or in real-time?

    Forum posts.

On a scale of 1 to 3, what's your preferred level of these in your RP:

  • Language: 3
  • Violence: 3
  • Sexuality: 1

What's something cool you'd love to RP?

Military science fiction settings have always interested me, so anything from serving aboard a warship to playing as a regular grunt infantryman sound exciting.

Welcome to the site! There are a lot of wonderful plots to read. There are a lot of wonderful plots to play in as well. So it's a matter of where you'd like to be. I recommend either starting with the Wiki, Here: https://stararmy.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:new_players . It's our handy searchable reference guide to everything on the site or just picking a thread and start reading. ;) It can be a little overwhelming but it's definitely worthwhile to read and play.

Hi I look forward to rping with you, yeah there's a lot to do and experience on the site. I noticed you like military oriented characters, If you would be interested in joining a special forces group, Saber is always looking for players to fill boots. We may even be able bring ships into that equation, as Section 6, the division that Saber is a department of, is always about creating new items, tech, equipment, and vehicles. Please PM me if you are interested and want to know more. Otherwise for military, the Nepleslian faction might be a good start for you.

Thank you. I've been reading some of the plot forums in my spare time and they are quite wonderful to read. I've already started to look into the wiki and it seems easy quite easy to get lost in all the interesting articles it has.

Haha, thank you, I hope to have fun here too.

It's good to meet you! I'm Wes.

What are some parts of the site that made you want to join up?
This seems like an interesting new setting I hadn't heard of before that has a lot of history and lore I could delve into. I've been reading some of the plots in the forums and going through random posts in the wiki and it seems like I've barely scratched the surface of what this site has on it. Also, from what I've seen, the community looks super helpful and welcoming, which is always a plus.

Thank you, I think the starships of the Star Army were the first articles I checked out when I discovered the wiki.

Thank you, this site certainly does seem like it has a lot to offer RPing wise. Saber sounds like something right up my alley, I'll message you for more info.
