How do you create a civilian corporation?

So...I am thinking of making a civilian corporation that dips it's hands into a little of everything. I don't plan on it being a plot so I am not quite sure what I need to put into the wiki for it. How do I go about making this happen? Do I just create a wiki for it and *bam* there it is? What should I include in the wiki? I realize that this will need approval through the tech boards as well.

Basically, start small and make a wiki article and submit it in the new setting elements forum.

What Wes said, but--

Some tips:
  • Start small.
  • Make sure your products fit the nation/faction you are planning to sell to.
  • Make sure you include answers to questions like -- Who runs it? How did this company come into existence? What makes it special?
  • I would recommend opening up a concept thread in the tech/setting forum, run your ideas by some of the other players and staff and utilize their feedback AS you plan so they can follow your thought process.

Can we get an update on this in modern times? I know that creating a corporation could technically fall under creating a faction, but as someone who wants to do so (Dhaval would turn his crew/Mining Op into an Industrial Organization/Corp) there's not a ton of information on how the economics/accounting pages work for the corporations. Not only that, but there's also a lot of information that would be important to producing new equipment (such as identification tags, such as the OI tag for Origin) that is scattered about in some rather tough to locate articles.

Wes would a corporation template be useful?
To reiterate, it's not just a template. It's a guide specifically for Corporations that would be far more useful. Despite the fact they're a type of faction, they're more or less a different entity due to the fact that factions HAVE corporations within them. This is basically a core part of factions, too, as most of them have at least a state (calling the faction it for simplicity)-funded/backed manufacturer/production head.
